Pocket Gamer: Remember when hacking was so cool that there were movies about it? Well that's the kind of neon-lit, Hollywood-inspired world of competitive system toppling that PWN: Combat Hacking inhabits.

This is wholly fanciful hacking by way of frenzied real-time strategy, and it's probably a lot more entertaining than the real thing.

Touch Arcade: Hacking isn't much of a competitive sport. There are certainly competitions out there like Pwn2Own, but they don't look much like Hollywood's idea of hacking—you know, the bright colours, trippy graphical interfaces and sexy music (and people).

Kotaku - When I Imagine Cyberpunk-Style Hack Battles, This is What I See

Kotaku - Since the early days of the Cyberpunk pen-and-paper role-playing setting, I've been fascinated by the idea of highly-skilled computer hackers roaming the plains of cyberspace looking for a fight; digital cowboys with their fingers twitching inches away from their plastic 101-shooters. The realization that real hackers are just normal people tapping away at standard keyboards was something of a letdown. I'd like to think PWN: Combat Hacking is what their mind's eyes see when they're staring intently at boring strands of glowing text.
