CAPCOM has just launched a teaser site for their latest game, titled Sengoku Basara 4. The game is scheduled for release in early 2014 for PS3 Japan.
Capcom has published a special feature detailing the story behind development of the Sengoku Basara series on its investor relations website.
The story is a narrated account featuring series producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi and director Makoto Yamamoto. It details a 2003 Capcom whose business was in dire straits, and who were focusing on sequels to hit titles that would guarantee success. When Kobayashi proposed the idea for a new kind of action game, Capcom was reluctant, but company president Kenzo Tsujimoto gave him the green light. The game’s team was mocked within the company at first, as most believed it to be a game that would never sell, but what ultimately came to fruition was something that the entire company had faith in.
You have already seen Sengoku Basara 4: Sumeragi get costumes from another Capcom series with Resident Evil in our earlier report and this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine reveals the latest is with the Street Fighter IV series.
Capcom has released the second official trailer for Sengoku Basara 4: Sumeragi.
Love Basara Heroes. Bring it on!
Awesome. Big fan of the series. Hope it hits the states in the next couple of years.
NEXT!
More Onimusha please.
Got tired of Dynasty Warriors after 3 which was the best in the series and this is my new franchise to replace Dynasty Warriors.
I love this series. The only 2 games that never came to the states were Basara 2 and Basara X. Hopefully we'll get some sort of HD collection for them.
It looks like Basara 4 is exclusive to PS3 at the moment.
