"We happen to love a good story, and as such we’ve decided to list five PlayStation 3 games that are fundamentally solid titles (at least in our humble opinion), yet concurrently possess some of the lamest narratives we’ve had the misfortune of digesting. Whether they’re recycled, unoriginal or just plain daft, you’ll likely find them here."
Resident Evil 5 launched 15 years ago today - and it continues to stand as a stepping stone from the good to the bad.
One of my favourites because of the co-op. Then Resi 6 arrived and the series nosedived further.
I enjoyed the game co-oping with a friend I know the game in solo the AI can be an idiot but RE5 is way better then RE6. I played RE6 with a friend if it wasn't cheap when I got I would have avoided RE6.
5 was excellent, still play Mercs with my brother.
I would love a fully remastered RE:5, with some added, reworked content. The DLC for 5 was also excellent.
6 was awful.
I never understood why the game was misunderstood. It was a fantastic game at launch and is still fun today to play. It’s as action packed as Resident Evil 4 was, yet that’s regarded a masterpiece 🤷♂️
it was "misunderstood" because they introduced co-op into the franchise at a time when people loved to have fake rage about co-op. like, you could play the game as a solo experience, but people chose to have their bandwagon rage because it was cool at the time lol
While FFVII ranks highly, there's more to the series than one game. Here's Chit Hot's picks for the seven best Final Fantasy characters.
Alex Donaldson: "Hindsight is a hell of a thing, however, and in the years since Final Fantasy XIII, my respect for the decisions its developers made has skyrocketed. In the two Final Fantasy titles since we see both the brilliance and the folly in alternative approaches - and in Final Fantasy VII Remake, we get a more nuanced understanding of what FF13 was trying to accomplish from many of the same development leads."
FFXIII is actually one of the best Final Fantasy games.
I also sort of was disappointed at the time, never as much as the bandwagon. But really all the fantastic 3D rendered cutscenes and I actually liked the characters and the story though convoluted was actually fantastic and the ending was extremely emotional. So much budget and time were put into that game Square had such big plans, I actually have always felt kind of bad for how things played out.
I have been thinking for years how great it would be to get all three games on one disk for PS4 or 5.
i liked the game alot but i didnt like how they handled the terminology.
i dont mind reading data logs but it had soo many.
but i always loved the music and how it looked. the battle system wasnt too bad either.
but i like 13-2 more :)
i still dont understand why we never got a remaster of the trilogy
XIII is a pretty solid game, but XIII-2 is WAY better. XIII-2 was one of the few games I decided to go for a Platinum trophy in, early on. Had so much fun the entire way through getting it too!
I hated this to when it released. I haven't much liked a ff game since ff10 as much , aside from ff7remake. I decided to give it another shot on my series x since it's not on a current ps and was liking it quite a bit(just takes me some time to get over things ) until star ocean 2 remake came out I was all over that.
Square should definitely remaster it or something for ps4 ps5
FFXIII's constant tutorials and linear gameplay ruined that game.
In the end, VG stories matter very little to me. Just Cause 2 has the worst story ever, but it's probably my most favorite game this gen.
I would add Haze to that list. One of my greatest PS3 disappointments from a very short list.
A crap game marred by an equally crap story marred by the most cringe-worthy dialogue ever imo.
When it comes to video games the story is the least important aspect. Gameplay>Sound>Visuals&g t;Story. As long as the first 3 aspects are great even a weak story doesn't bring down much what is overall an amazing game. If a game does every aspect well then it's a masterpiece, a.k.a God of War series, Red Dead Redemption, Mass Effect series, Bioshock series etc.
Films would be Story>Sound=Visuals and books are obviously 100% story.
MGS series for the most confusing story ever, along with hours of cutscenes that dont seem particularly story related at all.
Killzone 3, first no Helghan campaign, but the worse part in this game is the story: the good guys destroyed the entire planet and killed millions of innocent people¡¡¡¡ Master Chief, Nate, Jensen or Snake never have killed innocent people or species¡¡¡....s ince that I love the Helghast and hate the ISA. If Killzone Shadow Fall doesnt have Helghan campaing I will not buy it. At least in Mercenary you can choose the side with which you will work. I like to kill ISA in multiplayer.
