IGN reports that Outspark today unveiled Pi Story as the first title to join its rapidly growing virtual playground through the Outspark Publishing Platform. An exciting free online role-playing game for the PC, Pi Story will be available to the Outspark community during the second quarter of 2008.
Developed by NCONY, Pi Story is a 2D side-scrolling game featuring beautiful anime-style imagery, story-based gameplay and a suite of community features. Players create a character, battle through treacherous dungeons and gather lost Pi on their quest to reunite a shattered universe.
"We're excited to bring Pi Story to our growing community of social
gamers as we build a new online entertainment destination for players of
all ages and experience levels," said Outspark CEO and founder Susan
Choe. "Developer partners joining the Publishing Platform share
Outspark's vision of the future of online entertainment, and Pi Story is
the first of many partnerships that will bring even more great games to
our community."
'Tis the season for giving and this is exactly what Aeria Games is doing. Starting on December 12th, Aeria Games will be gifting more than $5 million dollars to its valued community.
WorldsinMotion: "Aeria Games has announced that it has partnered with Viz Media for an in-game item offer for its free-to-play casual fantasy MMORPG Pi Story.
Users who purchase the October issue of Viz Media's monthly shojo (girl's) manga magazine Shojo Beat will be able to use a code from within the issue to unlock virtual items – such as a 'Moko panda hat and shirt' within the game. Players will first have to ensure their game is up to date to the most current version 25 update."
Aeria Games has launched a series of NPC-based updates for its online multiplayer, Pi Story, along with a competition to encourage new gamers onboard. Dubbed the "March to 10" contest, creating a new character and leveling them up automatically enters players into a competition to win prizes.
