New Tales of Vesperia Images

The latest issue of Shonen Jump includes a new scan and images from the upcoming Namco Bandai RPG, Tales of Vesperia for the Xbox 360.

The story is too old to be commented.

how does microsoft keep scoring these exclusives despite the low sales of rpg's on the 360? what the hell is sony doing??

InMyOpinion3965d ago

I think it's cheaper and less time consuming to develop for the 360. Also, it has a larger install base = more buyers = $$$. Win-win situation.

sonarus3965d ago

yea its cheaper but not more buyers.

Microsoft is ponying up money, and sony is sitting back laughing like "haha who cares? We'll get it anyway and it'll sell more on our platform like all JRPG's"

InMyOpinion3965d ago

People who buy games are 'buyers. Software sales are higher on the 360 than on the PS3. If you don't agree, give me a link that proves me wrong. I'm not talking attach rates, I'm talking total sales.

Microsoft is shelling out a lot of money in attempt to boost their sales in the Japanese market. I think the two highest selling games in Japan are Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey (I know they are in the top 10). Obviously they are trying to make a bigger impact in Japan because that is where Microsoft struggles the most.

you know the point you're trying to make is flawed. total sales are suppose to be counted as a percentage NOT units. A larger userbase will sell more but if you look at percentage it's a whole different story

JRPGs are not selling well at all on the 360. If you compare Folklore to Eternal Sonata, they have been out for about the same time frame and the later is for the 360 and has higher production values, yet it has about the same world wide sales as Folklore.

I'm talking about the money that goes in the publishers/developers pockets. You can spin it however you want. The fact remains, at the moment it's more profitable to develop games for the 360. I'm not saying it won't change in the future, but that remains to be seen.

will get later. [then again I said the same thing for Eternal sonata and Blue Dragon xD]

Namco Bandai... they said Eternal Sonata was exclusive... i hope this game follows the same path. looking good.

More RPG love for 360, i guess US sales are good enough for Namco's continueing support - it must surely p!ss some PS3 owners off which is always good

CrazzyMan3965d ago

It`s more like M$ checks are good enough. =)))
Since, in Japan jrpgs won`t sell on x360 much, neither in rest world will. I mean look at FF killer LO, it sold less then 300k WW compared to 5-8 mln. of FF. =]

I've never been a big fan of Namco. I loved Soul Calibur for Dreamcast and that's about it. It's really weird that Namco has been treating Xbox 360 so well. I hope it pays off for them.
