Soul Calibur IV boxart

Xbox 360 Fanboy writes:

"We've all been aware for some time that the guest characters in Soul Calibur IV would be Darth Vader and Yoda. And at the time there was an assortment of people making darkside-lightside jokes concerning certain platforms, and it seems Namco-Bandai might have found them funny."

I prefer the PS3's box art. It's way cooler.

hahaha never thought i would disagree with you on something like this but believe it or not i like the 360 boxart. I will be getting on ps3 regardless. I have tried playing fighting games on 360 controller. It just doesn't work for me. I do hope to at least get a chance to play as yoda maybe with a demo or maybe i will rent. By the way, does anyone know the estimated release date for this one. Being a bandai namco game, i am guessing it will release in JP first.

thanks bloody. lol i think the ps3 box art is too dark. Plus the red and black didn't go too well in my opinion. But then again i am no artist so thats just my opinion. Both box arts look great but if i was choosing which to buy based on box art i would run with xbox. However its hard to pass up vader for yoda. Next soul calibur i am voting for kratos on ps3 and i guess the too human guy on 360 really can't think of any other sword wielding villan on the 360. I would have said master chief and maybe he could use the that pink sword (4give me not the biggest halo fan so i don't know the names only remember spartan hammer and spartan laser)

Vader is, without a doubt, one of the most bad a$$ villains ever. Can't wait to play as him.

Nuch Vader3970d ago

I'm going to have to go with the Xbox 360 box art on this one.

I also like more the 360 boxart, feels lighty, but I will get PS3 version, since I can play Vader and I don't have a 360 by now (maybe July).

But what I really don't get is why Namco would put thos two on cover? Vader and Yoda wasn't supposed to be GUESTS, not so canonical history with other chars? But then again, Namco has some experience with that (Spawn, Link and Heihashi Mishima).

wait to play soul calibur online Mitsurigi is all that matters but having vader helps too

ASSASSYN 36o3970d ago

Mitsuguri is a frigin GOD. He frigin pWnS. Sigfried and/or Knightmare is his disciple. He is unstopable.

Kleptic3970d ago

I haven't played any of these since whichever title made it to the DC...I owned Soul Edge for the PS1 though, which was also awesome imo...

but yeah...haven't been into fighting games for a long time...but this and Tekken 6 will probably be purchases for me...

Cervantes was always my favorite character though...Is he still around?...

I prefer the PS3 boxart. The whole dark side look to it just seems awesome.

kewlkat0073970d ago

with the Extra Character [Darth Vader], just as Xbox 360's "light" colored box with [Yoda] in the back. It evens them both, in that sense.

May the force be with the Sales..

Baring any "un-forseen" technicalities(waiting for reviews), I'll get this for the PS3, since the D-Pad on the 360 sucks @ss.
