With the mixed response to Resident Evil 6 and uncertainty of the franchises future, is a reboot the best option to revive the undead series?
Capcom at TGS by the Bay was a special event that invited commentators and the press for a hands-on preview at their San Francisco office.
The boss of Capcom has insisted any buyout attempt from Microsoft would be rejected.
Phil Spencer: getting Capcom would be another moment and I honestly believe a good move for both companies. It's just taking a long time for Capcom to see that their future exists only on Xbox hardware. A long time.... :-)
you would think that with how much money M$ they would have enough resources to make quality games instead of just buying already successful studios / publishers. But I guess whats the point if they have the money to burn. Just look at all the canceled games and flops under M$'s direction in the past 10 years. I guess they were tired of being the laughing stock of the gaming industry.
Yes, make it scary like it should be. For gosh sake the last two were nothing like RE should be, granted I did like 5, but 6 sucked rotten eggs.
Reboot? RE6 was their chance at a reboot and they ruined it. I think they should do remakes, give RE2 and RE3 the treatment that they gave RE1 on the Gamecube.
A reboot probably won't work either. As long as the same people who steered the game in the wrong direction are making the decisions the game will always suck.
Anyone that thought it needed to be turned into a brain dead shoot em up shouldn't be left near the series again.
A reboot wouldn't even help. without Shinji, RE is nothing. Plus capcom said they wanted to attract the COD crowd. so it's really no hope. No Shinji Mimaki, and Capcom's habit of not listening to their fans. Plus they're obsessed with ''DLC''. They are really not to be trusted.
They said 6 was supposed to be the reboot.
