AMD Displays Working Samples of its Most Advanced Prototypes at Show in Germany

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. aims to bolster support for its "quad-core" computer processor chips today by showing off working samples of its most advanced prototypes at the CeBit electronics trade show in Hannover, Germany.

The new chips are similar to AMD's present quad-core chips, but they are made with a more advanced manufacturing process that's expected to make them smaller, cheaper, faster with lower power consumption than existing products.
