Can't wait .

This and the last of us are my most anticipated games in 2013.

miyamoto4481d ago (Edited 4481d ago )

Hai.

From the Father of Survival Horror and Modern Third Person Shooters

... one can only expect greatness and awesomeness.

Shinji Mikami is a true master.

The first Resident Evil is technically a survival horror/ third person shooter game.

Kyosuke_Sanada4481d ago

I wouldn't say the father of survival horror per se because Alone In the Dark came out way before hand and Mikami just refined his elements to make it playable. Not saying he doesn't deserve praise for what he's done just a little food for thought......

miyamoto4481d ago (Edited 4481d ago )

I said "Father of Survival Horror and Modern Third Person Shooters" because he coined the term "Survival Horror" and practically gave it definition and his standards that we know today. I can also call him Father of Zombie Survival Horror games to be more specific but it doesnt deduct to the fact that he started this subgenre

"The term "survival horror" was first used for the original Japanese release of Resident Evil in 1996, which was influenced by earlier games with a horror theme such as 1989's Sweet Home. The name has been used since then for games with similar gameplay, and has been retroactively applied to games as old as Haunted House from 1982."

Without his conventions who knows if the term or Survival Horror sub genre would even exist as we know it today.

Alone in the Dark, for all intents and purposes, wasn't known or made as survival horror to begin with. It was just made as an action adventure game. Alone in the Dark (1992) is considered a forefather of the survival horror genre, and is sometimes called a survival horror game in retrospect.

I hope this game is a return of golden days for Survival horror for next gen.

hot4play4481d ago

Agree.

I've been a huge RE fan since the 1996, but with the way things are going for the series, sad to say-- the Resident Evil series is (un)dead to me.

Hopefully Mikami's Project Zwei (along with The Last Of Us) can reinvigorate the Survival horror genre!

on_line_forever4481d ago

finally some news about it iam so exciting and i miss old days feeling with resident evil . i hop this game destroy and suprise all crapcom fools staff . canot wait

HarryMasonHerpderp4481d ago

Very excited for this.
Horror needs to make a comeback!
I've gone through an entire gen with a complete drought of the genre and it's killing me.

Hopefully they do a new The Evil Within or something similar to that.

Abnor_Mal10d ago

If I were them, I would not even put my next game on Xbox, the way they were treated . Plus they’d probably need the sales not just yea someone played our game.

Tango Gameworks Lives Again Thanks to Krafton

Tango Gameworks has resumed social media communications as part of its rebirth with South Korean publisher Krafton.

CrimsonWing69161d ago

Sucks they can’t make Evil Within 3. Like, why would MS hold onto that IP, it’s not like they’re going to do anything with it.

OtterX161d ago

Because Microsoft is evil within? 🤔

Demetrius161d ago

Lmao Microsoft basically is evil within, ran by puffed up politician like egos 🤣

RaidenBlack161d ago

They can collab with a 2nd/3rd party studio for the IP's 3rd entry.

CrimsonWing69161d ago

That’d be great if they did with Tango, but do you really think that will happen?

gerbintosh160d ago

MS can sell the IP for money?

CrimsonWing69160d ago

Does that happen often? I mean, yea, usually when a publisher goes under, but I can’t see MS doing that. Though, stranger things have happened, I suppose.

Melankolis160d ago

What IPs acquired by Microsoft from Tango other than EW and Ghostwire?

2024 in Review: Winners and Losers

VGChartz's Taneli Palola: "Another year is behind us, and as always it's time to take a look back at some of the best and worst things that happened in the video game industry in 2024. Naturally, as seems to be the case every year, filling in the losers list is easy, as there's never a shortage of options for that category, while the winners list takes a lot longer to come together. Still, even if it may at times seem that we only ever hear bad news when it comes to video games, there are still quite a lot of positives to take from this year as well. So, let's get to them first."

The biggest winner was ASTRO BOT! Sony finally got their Mario

Not that there is anything wrong with it, but Sony literally copied and pasted the best of what Nintendo did with Mario, with a different coat of paint. The good thing about that is Nintendo will have to up it's game!

Switch 2 is supposedly going to have about the same power as PS4 Pro. If that's true, I think Nintendo is going to have some truly amazing looking and playing games! Astrobot will hopefully push Nintendo to utilize that power to wow us!

Cheers to Sony and Nintendo! Fistbump to Microsoft.

Flewid638162d ago

Bro never played a Mario game in his life. lol.

darthv72163d ago

Let's take a moment to pour one out for all their previous attempts at mascots.
Crash
Ratchet
Sackboy
Knack

And any others that tried to take up the mantle. You are gone but not forgotten.
