GR's DeShaun Zollicoffer takes a quick look at Tomb Raider.
Reminds me of a game on the PS3...Uncharted. Yeah that's the game.
It's not as Uncharted like as it originally appears.
Yeah, but a lot more gruesome. I guess I'll give it a chance this weekend.
Oh you mean that PS3 game that copied Tomb Raider in every way? Oh yeah, that game.
Uncharted 3 has ruined 3rd person games for me.....nothing out there really comes close to that experience, maybe last of us....i hope.
The only thing UC3 ruined was the UC franchise. Not that it was ever anything terribly good, but at least it wasn't boring. What was UC3 aside from a competent cover-based shooter that was marred by sub-par set pieces, a regurgitated story (from UC2), cliche plot, and one-dimensional characters? If UC1 was a fastfood burger, UC2 was the same burger without the cheese, and UC 3 was just a soggy bun that was fished out of the dumpster. Spec Ops: The Line was a much better TPS.
TheRealSpy you can't even compare UC2 with 3...common now.UC3 better in leaps and bounds than anything out there.so if you can't agree then we haven't played the same game or you don't have a HD telly?
47" 3D television. I'm quite sure we played the same game. I just have standards that extend beyond "OMG, ND is so amazing *drool*" I think they are the most overrated developer in the industry and I think the same thing about the UC franchise. I have had better TPS experiences in many other games, I've had better story experiences in nearly every game that has a story, and I've seen more memorable side-characters than the main characters in that franchise. The villains in Uncharted are a joke. Let me sum up each game: Evil villain wants an object that gives them power. Drake is after the same object for the money. Drake refuses to believe that an object can give power despite the fact that he's already experienced monsters and the supernatural before. One-dimensional, cliche villain gets to object the same time as Drake. Final battle...Fight. All the while ND tries to force a completely uninteresting love story between Drake and Elena that NEVER evolves. Oh, and peppered throughout the game are "puzzles" that you'd have to be in a coma to not be able to solve. Then again, a person that thinks UC is Teh Best Game Evar might find those puzzles to be challenging..which is really depressing. Oh, and lets not forget that the only time the game is visually impressive is when it's a cut scene and ND can cake on tons of post processing effects. You can bet that's exactly how UC 4 will be, as well. We both have very different opinions, the difference is that mine isn't cookie-cutter. BTW, you replied to the wrong comment.
Didn't tomb raider come out before uncharted? BTW if it is a clone it has a Mature setting to it. It doesn't matter what people say Tomb Raider and uncharted will always be kind of similar. If they make a new Indiana Jones game they would also call that an uncharted clone.
I love both ips
Uncharted kinda took the Tomb Raider style game and made it DRASTICLY better... but now Tomb Raider has become like Uncharted
Wah! Tomb Raider crashed on me after the first mission :( It better have autosaved >.>
