"The best part of waking up… should be your alarm clock.
For some of us, waking up is like digging a corpse out of a grave. For others, it’s like birds chirp and the sun shines and they just wake up like Susie Sunshine.
But waking up is a part of daily life, and there are ways in which we can spice up the that routine.
After toiling with generic alarm clock noises for several years, my bedtime wakey-wakey (with eggs and bakey) was graciously changed for the better with the purchase of my first smartphone. With our bundles of touchscreen joy, alarm ringtones can be anything you so desire: a favorite song, loud obnoxious noises not related to ringing bells, or if you’re like me — videogame music.
So if you’re looking to enliven your daily routine of waking up with some good old VGMs, you’ve come to the right place. I may or may not have used some of these as my ringtones over the years."

Discover 10 timeless video games from the past that remain absolutely playable today. From Chrono Trigger to DOOM, these classics have aged like fine wine!
Hot damn that's a good list. The only one i never played is AOE2 and i never finshed Chrono Trigger but it was damn good.
Speaking of what's old but holds up amazingly well and plays like a dream.. i played Symphony of the Night for the first time in 2019.. yep that's right. It became one of my favourite games of all time that i replay almost every year. I couldn't believe how good it was. That is almost impossible for me with newer games let alone older ones. Truly a special gem.
The only one I’d disagree with is doom. It shows its age badly I think. After 5 minutes of play these days you put it down.
Ever play a game a game only to discover at some point it transforms into a horror game? No? Well Netto's Game Room shares six games that do just that!
Not necessarily a ‘horror’ moment, but I remember feeling really tense and anxious when the Flood were first introduced in the original Halo. I never felt more on edge or nervous in that whole game as that moment. I think it was the whole buildup that something terrible was coming but you didn’t know exactly what.
Another non-horror game that had me feeling it was Subnautica. The deep dark depths, and knowing that sea monsters were lurking nearby, had me jumping at every sound.
I remember being scared of the Asylum level in the most recent Thief game from 2014.
Yuji Horii may have accidentally confirmed a Chrono Trigger remake at Comicon in Naples. Eyewitness accounts suggest the beloved JRPG could be returning in HD-2D form.
I'm still skeptical of HD-2D, and still want them to fix remaining foibles in the current Steam version. At any rate I've been seeing online that this rumour has been debunked
I would jump for a remake of Chrono Trigger then hopefully a remake of Chrono Cross. I wish Xenogears and the Xenosaga trilogy also got a remake or a remaster.
I am surprised it hasn’t been done already. It’s widely considered as one of the best RPGs all time. I’ll take it for sure. I want a Vagrant Story remake as well
