Netflix Beefs Up Blu-ray Offerings

n a statement given by the online movie rental company increasing projected subscribers, Netflix mentioned that they will increase their Blu-ray catalog by as many as 1,500 titles. Currently, Netflix maintains about 400 Blu-ray titles in their rental database. The plus-up in available titles is due to increased demand for high definition movies and the culmination of the format war.

I have two already and I must say its great fun.

If my wife is out for the day, I get to play on the 42" HDTV plasma.
If she is at home its the 32" HDTV in the mancave.

I love the Mancave!

Because it takes FOREVER to get a copy of anything in blu-ray with Netflix. In fact, I just changed my account today to give me DVD's rather than blu-ray when choosing a movie because it took so long to get anything.

Netflix is weird. They'll send you movies that aren't even on your queue because they fall into a specific area of what you like. I'm actually thinking of goint back to Blockbuster online. I dropped them a couple of months ago, but at least they sent me the movies I asked for, not what they thought I would like. That and the blu-ray movies didn't seem to take so long.

Agreed! The Bluray cue is just stupid long! Whats worst is that I can't seem to choose which movie I want to watch in Bluray and which one in DVD.

For me blu-ray takes a little bit longer. Even though if it's rated extremely long wait it will just take about 2 weeks for me to get it which isn't a big deal. It also depends where you live. There's 40 distribution centers.

They better give people what they want, the public has spoken and they want BD.
