I commend Sucker Punch for knowing that Cole's powers as well as his story line reached their maximum potential by the end of inFamous 2. A new inFamous with Cole would have been milking the game's success and I love the series too much to see that happen.

But inFamous: Second Son is fantastic sequel an way to continue the series. A new hero, new powers, and all new storyline that continues the series

Cole died a Hero and full with pride of being human and dignity of being a conduit in inFamous 2! As much as I love Cole and to some extend Zeke but making him come back after what they've done will tarnish their images and not to mention...MILKING of great characters!

I'm glad they went to the new direction and knowing Sucker Punch, this can only be another great game is waiting on the horizon for us!

well i already expected tis to happen, and i still dont see how some idiots think cole is alive, just because a lightning bolt hit the boat,besides bringing cole back is a cop out to the great ending,and people are seriously saying "im not gonna play the game because cole isnt in it this is just like what happened to dante", all i gotta say is what they did to dante is a completly different thing than to what happened to cole ie he is dead and this takes place 7 years after so a new character with a new power takes place.

Yeah both endings for inFAMOUS 2 were perfect in my eyes. As much as i want to see Cole again because of how much I liked him, it would ruin two of the greatest endings in all of gaming.

I also have faith that Sucker Punch will create a new likable set of characters with a good story and gameplay. Hopefully they also tie this story into the world they created with Cole and touch upon the significance he had on it.

Also I was talking about this game with my friend and he complained about the set of evil powers not being balanced with the good powers. I never really noticed this, but did anyone else? Because I guess that would be one spot where SP could improve.

let me first start off by saying that I will definitely be getting this because I love inFamous. However, I can see why people are upset. The whole point and theme of the first two games is that Cole is the savior or downfall of the people. Everything rests on his choices alone. Now in this game, it seems like random antiheroes have powers, which completely negates the whole theme of the first 2 games. What Cole did is not that special anymore, and its just not all that special to have powers anymore. The idea of just one day obtaining these powers seems a little off to me, but there will probably be more context in the game; people just need to wait to see it before completely writing it off I guess though.

Well, I think we have to see how they handle it. If they explain why people still have powers after the good ending that doesn't negate anything Cole did. It's just that he didn't effect the world. The people of Empire City and New Marais still depended on Cole to save them or let them die. The theme is still there, just not a world wide scope.

This is me just thinking out loud right now, but what if this is in the future and someone was able to create something very similar to the ray sphere, but it didn't require that many lives to turn someone into a superhero? I think it will be something similar to that. This could be after Kessler's times when the ray sphere was actually common.

If you watched the good ending you good hear Zeke saying how "some people over seas were keeling over" and you saw a picture of a tribe in Africa where a man is holding his dead wife

Haven't you forgotten something? Remember that Cole was never the only Conduit. People who he fought or where on his side were Conduits too.He was never that special.He was among people who had powers too even in the first two games.The only reason Cole was different is because he could absorb different powers but he was always surrounded by random people who earned powers. Remember the Transients/Trash baggers? They were just people who lived in the street before they became telekinetic.Cole wasn't special because he had powers. He was special because he was the one person that decided to do something about the terrible things that were happening. Just think of this time people are following his example instead of just causing chaos or standing by watching bad things happen.

I don't think Sucker Punch will leave Cole dead. They showed the lightning bolt at the end just so they could leave it open enough for them to bring him back if they wanted.

If he doesn't make an appearance in this new one then you know they'll be a side story (DLC) to include him meeting the new character.

Honestly I think they could easily make inFAMOUS 3 is they wanted and continue straight after the good ending of inFAMOUS 2

They didn't use the number 3 for this but a sub title instead so it's obvious that they are keeping their options open for Cole to return.

We don't even know which ending this is if it is the good or bad ending and you are already making assumptions. Just because it is a new guy doesn't mean Cole doesn't still exist in the game. It could be the evil ending where Cole and Conduits tried to take over and they were stopped by the rest of humanity.And even if Cole did come back to life so what? It wasn't as if he was just a normal person. He was superhuman so what is so unbelievable about him coming back to life? Is it any less believable then super powers or Cole traveling through time or John coming back with the power to make Conduits or mutant swamp monsters?

Cole will be back eventually in a sequel. He's basically made of electricity & absorbs it from lights to heal. A thunderbolt is more than enough to heal him but I think they're going with the evil ending for the start of this new game anyway. I'm just glad we have new powers instead of more electricity powers.

Still hoping we get a multiplayer mode where we can fight each other and absorb each others powers to become an ultimate fighter.

Would encourage a lot of team play to take the person down who has the most powers collected.

IMO I like it like this. Leave the ending ambiguous. He could be alive but what more could he exactly have done? His biggest threat is gone. And besides you have to leave room to make a continuation that can build off both endings like inFamous 1 did.

I like Cole as much as every one else but he needs a break. Give someone else a chance in the spotlight. I like this new direction it's going and I'll definitely be checking this out.

What about if they kept the seven year gap but made it so he was only revived fully after those 7 years pass

Then being back on the streets the goverment through the cameras know who he is and decide to get rid of him thinking he's a threat despite the good things he did

The point is you can always write a bigger threat into the story, it's the best thing about writting a story. You can always add to your world in whatever way you want.

For example look at Kuo if they wanted to bring back her they could of made it so she covered herself in ice to get away from the effects of the ray. Again I made that up, adding onto a story.

Well it could all be hype, yeh cole is dead etc then there is a big reveal at the end of this game alluding to Cole being alive. Things like that they like to keep hidden and excite the fans who play the game.

You rarely see the story end for someone at the second game. This is very good if them to do so for a lot of reasons when you look at how the story flows from 1 through how 2 ended. And now Second Son looks like itll have its own story.

As much as I love the character of Cole, I have huge respect for SP for being able to turn away from that saga of Infamous. It'd be a shame if they took such a great character and sold him to death for profit.

I can't wait for this game and the new character's 'smoke' powers look awesome, but it looks like it's more than smoke. It looks fire-based as well.

Any ideas on the nature of his powers and his origin? By the looks of it he's Cole and Quo's kid.
