WC: In the swift rising construction of the independent gaming scene, only a handful of studios have managed to produce gaming gold that garners critical acclaim, outshines and outclasses a hefty lump of the herculean developers.
Klei Entertainment is a prime example of independent genius at work, and all from a little studio in Vancouver, Canada. Klei (pronounced Clay) is held together by a tight knit team of extremely talented developers and personnel that exudes the upmost pride and confidence in everything they produce, and I’m thrilled that they exist.
The upcoming mobile game Don't Starve: Newhome just got a new animated story trailer and things don't look good for Wilson... or anyone else stuck in the Constant.
Chinese gaming conglomerate Tencent has acquired a majority stake in Klei Entertainment, the developer of Don't Starve, Oxygen Not Included, and Griftlands.
Can they just...stop gobbling up everything? This is such a great indie studio. I'm not a fan of Tencent having a majority stake in them. Companies like Riot, whatever. But smaller quality devs? Quit it, Tencent!
how about we stop letting chinese companies with ccp handlers buy any stake in any western company.
It was fun to play Don't starve together while it lasted. I guess I won't play anymore
Talkin' and turn-based combat are two pieces of Klei's mysterious new game.
