Why do games take so long to come out in the EU?

Is there no unified ratings system in place, or is the ratings system that is in place simply not function? Or do they actually add translations and dubbing to EU releases for France and Germany and whatnot?

bicfitness3933d ago

All the languages certainly add to the development process.

Sanquine903933d ago

I am dutch and i dont mind the games being in english. Only countries like france dont understand english ( Most of them, been there a lot)

exactly...It takes about 7-12 months to translate everything into JUST ENGLISH for the US, now multiply that by multiple languages and you can figure it out.

SandWitch3933d ago (Edited 3933d ago )

If you are talking particularly about Persona, it's not about ratings or languages. Atlus has its own publishing office in US so it was easy for them to publish the game there. As for Europe, they had to find third-party publisher so that's what delay is about.

There are no additional languages in this one - it's English only.

Also: Best game on Vita by a mile. So good.

Canary3933d ago

I wasn't sure if they added additional language support or not.

It seems like even that shouldn't take too long, as most games released in NA already have French and Spanish text--at least, some have a ton of language options--and I can speak from personal experience that translating into German, while difficult, is nowhere near so time-consuming as translating from Japanese.

Also: I think Project Diva F is better; it's more well-suited for portable play

Quake 4 - Launching the Xbox 360 FPS Addiction

Quake 4 arrived as an Xbox 360 launch title soon after its PC debut, and heralded an era in which the single-player FPS dominated.

DefenderOfDoom21d 7h ago

For me, what launched the single player FPS campaign on consoles was Playstation DOOM which I bought during the launch window for the Playstation 1 back in 1995 which ended up being the best port of DOOM on consoles back in the 90s .

Still plays great today. Shoulder button strafe shooting is fun.

Oh man, that William's Doom on PS1 had the best music/ambience! Really sounded hellish and it still sounds amazing today. I always preferred it over the original Midi music from PC. Doom 64 was really good too for that era!

DefenderOfDoom21d 7h ago

I hope Nightdive does a remaster of QUAKE 4 to be released on all current platforms .

OtterX13h ago

For sure. It was one of the 360 launch titles I picked up and enjoyed
it. But I really hope they do a Quake 3 Arena with crossplay option too. I recently went back and played on PC, and had a ton of fun. Would be nice to have servers officially reopened with a retail remaster! The Unreal Tournament and Quake 3 days are my fondest memories of online shooters.

There were definitely big fps games on console before this.

You could do far worse on the 360 back in the day it was a excellent port of a at the time fairly demanding PC game.

I found all LiS games to be very good.

Especially the first and True Colors.

Before the storm was also amazing as it tied up the story with 1 in a great way and mae you invested with previously unknown character.

I think LiS 2 was the weakest in the series but still a very good game

Knightofelemia3d ago

The game is a good game I enjoyed the first game I double platinumed it on PS3 and PS4. And Life is Strange Before the Storm I also enjoyed if it was on PS3 I would have bought it again because I enjoyed it. Life is Strange 2 for some reason I just can't get into it. And the newer Life is Strange game I have yet to play it.

I put countless hours into this game... I think this is the one where I accidentally killed my dog from only feeding it nuts and berries, lol. Can't recall, as I played so many different Harvest Moon games throughout the years growing up.
