Are multi-platform releases really superior on PS3 over Xbox 360?

Dave Parrack from Gamer.Blorge writes:

"Gamepro decided to try and answer this question once and for all, in an article titled 'PS3 vs. Xbox 360 ports: The cold, hard truth', but whether you choose to believe their conclusions or not depends which side of the fence you sit."

"There are very few differences between the multi-platform games released simultaneously on the PS3 and Xbox 360, and certainly not many that ordinary gamers would notice. But without any solid evidence whatsoever, Erickson is urging you to buy PS3 every time. That's quite a jump, unless of course the writer herself is guilty of being a fanboy?"

one site says 3 games are better on the ps3 and the hole xbox army needs to defend the 360.

what Gp said was just there opinion and if you cant exepth that then you are the fanboy.

other sites have said they where better on ps3 but we didnt get 20 blog responces from screaming blind fanboys

over reaction FTL

Well all I'm going to say is to not take this one as a fact since it's also a matter of opinion.

it's all about how far the developer wants to push the hardware of that console & seeing that it's harder to develop for on the PS3, many developers don't really dedicate themselves to push the hardware in the PS3 cause of time & money.

it might be because the article was titled "PS3 vs. Xbox 360 ports: The cold, hard truth" and generally people equate truth with fact... not opinion... but who knows i could be wrong.

"The cold, hard, truth." Normally when I see te word truth, I expect that. Maybe they should have said "the cold, hard, opinion" instead? Doesn't sound as catchy, but at least there wouldn't be any inserting foot in mouth.

Making too big a deal about this. The games are the same thing. Few multi games are gonna be different enough to change public interest. In the past there was a few noticable horrible PS3 ports.

That's ending now that developers are getting a handle on the PS3.

360 fans have been so pathetic on this, their fuel comes from developers who are too lazy to understand the different agriculture of the PS3.

I was waiting for the reply to the GamePro article, from a blog none the less, this is funny stuff. I can't say I am not entertained, I can't say he made any good points, but dam it if he didn't responded on the behalf of the 360.

ROFL, good stuff.

Can't wait for the MGO Beta.

Lol, who cares if one game is better on the other? So what? That doesn't always mean one console is better than the other. Saying console a is better than console b because some multiplat games look better on console a isn't a good way of deciding which is better. It all depends on how the game is programmed to said consoles architecture. 360 = all graphics are done by the GPU. PS3 = graphics done by RSX and/or Cell.

Also, the newer nvidia cards wont work with old-skool games, if I remember reading the article correctly(way back). So does that instantly make some 128mb graphics card better than the 8800? I think not. I'm not saying the PS3 is like an nvidia 8800 and the 360 is a 128mb graphics card. It's just an analogy. I would say the PS3 is more like an 8800 and the 360 is like an 8600 or so, maybe a little weaker.

In anycase, games are games, play them regardless of console, and if you have both get the one you feel is best. It's more a matter of opinion. Some people may like the PS3 controller more than the 360s or vice versa. I don't get why people get so worked up over something so pointless...

for now the games are pretty much the same because people would complain if it was better on 1 system and not the other. But as far as the games go they are not as good as they can be because they have to be made the same. They could be more better if Microsoft went with a bigger disc format but instead things have to be made small to go on both systems

Project: Horned Owl Review

From the mid-1980s to the early part of the 2000s, light gun rail shooters were a staple in both arcade and home system gaming. Arguably, the genre started to really hit its stride in the mid-1990s. While games like Time Crisis, Virtual Cop, and House of the Dead, among others, dominated both the home system and arcade space, some one relegated to only home game systems. Today, we’ll be talking about a little-known cult game published by Sony called Project: Horned Owl. This game was developed by Alfa Systems, and all in all, this is a fun game.

The score for the first Plants Vs Zombies is such great, iconic music that it has a timeless quality. Not quite the level of Minecraft, but wonderful in its own right.
