Hardcore Gamer: The project has already hit its minimum goal of £10,000, but new features may be added to it like a Kudos-style system, online leaderboards, multiple routes through each circuit, and local multiplayer if a higher threshold is reached.
Josh Griffiths writes: "It’s been eight months since the last time Antonis Pelekanos provided an update for The 90’s Arcade Racer. So, we’ve dug around to find out what happened to this throwback arcade racer. What we found is somewhat conjectural, but no less disappointing.
The 90’s Arcade Racer is likely dead."
Say what? I was really looking forward to this, especially to review it. This is awful.
Hmm the developer just posted a new screenshot on twitter a few weeks ago and used the hashtags steam and 90racer.
The game really does not look dead to me.
NE: "A new gameplay video for 90’s Arcade Racer has come online showing the latest progress with AI and functioning gameplay mechanics."
VVV: "We recently brought you gameplay footage of 90's Arcade Racer, a game that until recently has been very much off the radar. And now we can reveal the tracks you'll be racing around (see below).
The tracks on offer include an oval, mountain courses, an airport level and there's even a bonus track set in a kid's playroom. The tracks range in difficulty and all have their unique 90's arcade era charm with vibrant colours and surroundings."
Every time I see a screenshot of this game a voice in the back of my head screams "Daaaaaaaaaaaaayyytooooon nnnnnaaaaaaaa!"
I loved the no-nonsense arcade racers of the 90s, my body is ready for this game.
It actually looks really fun :) hope it meets it's goal, can't fund any myself though unfortunately.
