It's been six years since Capcom dropped Devil May Cry 5, but it's still more than worth replaying in 2025 thanks to its rich gameplay.
Because the anime is on Netflix and we gotta ride that DMC in the news again wave.
It’s been sitting in my backlog for a while now. One of the first games I wanted to try for this current gen due to the long load times of previous gen. I’ll get around to it soon!
One of the best, stylish, and fun action slasher on the system. You definitely should get to it, as soon as you can.
The DMC5 team went on to make Dragons Dogma 2, the DMC director (3,4,5) left capcom to make an action game at another studio and the rumor is that a DMC remake is next...so i wouldn't hold my breath on DMC6.
Everytime its on sale I think about buying it but never do. I only played the orginal and somr of 3 so I guess that's part of it.

Me leaving it out should be telling of my thoughts on it. Better than 2 as a DMC game.

Best to good for me: 3, reboot, 1, 5
2 and 4 are trash, didnt like any of them.
5 has very good gameplay variety but i hated the foes.. it is just insects the whole time. Reboot has the best foes for me
3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them

God DMC2 was an awful game.

Order changes depending on your focus. I tend to focus on gameplay/fun factor, so...
5, 3, 1, 4, 2.
I really didn't like 4 but commend Dante's weapon diversity. The retreading of old ground was pretty unacceptable to me.
But even then... Still more enjoyable than 2 for me
This right here is my order as I thought DMC 5 was amazing and obviously 3 comes after 4 was great and 1 for the nastilgic value it holds 2 was so terrible that my local GameStop gave full refunds to people who returned it.

Wait a minuet, so even though DmC is performing poorly in sales, has some pretty bad user reviews, and most of the core fans want nothing to do with it, we were still wrong? Based on what logic?
Granted, the game isn't the mangled mess I expected it to be, it's nowhere near the standards expected from a DMC game (reboot or not) by many of the core fanbase and that was pretty much the issue from the start, so... How are we wrong again?
it would have better sales that the last DMC game, there seems to be a big disconnect between reviewers/critics and fans of the game.
What's wrong with just saying in the title, " I love the reboot. DMC is a great game!" Calling out people who didn't like the reboot is a bit immature even though users would still voice their opinions for or against the title regardless. Fighting fire with fire is always wrong......
