STP: Stratego is a board game concept that is still a bit of fun, especially online, but this app's presentation doesn't take advantage of the war theme.
TouchArcade: In our hyper-connected world of social networks and online gaming, it seems like society is forgetting about our dear old friend the loner. I myself am a loner, as I enjoy single-player games the most and rarely play online with other people. I also don't really leave my apartment ever. Lately developers have been taking aim at that golden loner demographic, with games like One Player Pong last week and today the new Stratego Single Player [$1.99]. Stratego Single Player is pretty much what its title describes: The classic Stratego board game geared towards single-player play. It also features an AI developed by a Stratego World Champion.
148apps: The classic board game makes its way onto iOS with gusto. Just be sure to give the unbalanced single player side of things a wide berth.
GameZebo: If you've never played Stratego before, well friend, you're a little late to the party. It's a classic board game of capture the flag that’s simple enough to learn quickly, but full of subtle strategies. While it's been around for ages, it's never been given a treatment like Jumbo and Keesing Games just put together, playable on iPad or any web browser and with plenty of great new features.
