For players of games like Earn to Die and Extreme Road Trip, there's much that's - pleasantly - familiar about Zombie Road Trip. You take control of an auto-running vehicle across a series of landscapes that are packed full of obstacles. In this particular instance those obstacles are shuffling zombies on the road ahead, and there's also a marauding pack of them chasing you from behind - fluff enough jumps and they'll eventually catch up to you and end your turn.
EDGE - It’s the perfect storm: the tricks of Joe Danger, the infinite running style of Tiny Wings, dopamine-rousing lotteries and, of course, zombies. Zombie Road Trip pretty much writes itself: you direct your auto-accelerating car along an undulating 2D course, pulling tricks in return for boost and shooting zombies for currency, and survive for as long as you can before the pursuing zombie horde catches you.
Pocket Gamer: Killing zombies in an iOS game could be the modern equivalent of the popular turn of phrase 'shooting fish in a barrel'. At the current rate, it's likely that some time within the next eight months the zombie infestation of the App Store will be complete.
Spurious statistics aside, Zombie Road Trip never attempts to hide the fact that it's cashing in on the undead re-murdering trend, and as gore-soaked endless-runners go it's perfectly adequate.
