This week's radiOPM podcast featured Full Auto 2 producer Mike Gallo from Sega of America who talked in great detail about the company's upcoming PlayStation 3 exclusive launch title.
There are good video game protagonists, and there are bad video game protagonists.
I disagree that max is unlikable. Chloe is infinitely more unlikable in my opinion.
Most of these aren't even that bad. Especially comparing to others like Squall "Whatever" Leonhart, Forspoken's Frey, and the guy from Atomic Heart.
i had to stop reading after the "blatant misogyny" in the Dantes inferno section.
i actually liked Max haha.
the forspoken chick is missing tho
Fun things I learned from this interview:
-Sony still doesn't have any online info for devs, except "it will handle gamer profiles". lollerskates
-Launch games really ARE using 3rd party connection methods because PS3's network system isn't ready (obviously- see above).
-Launch games might have no Achievements (er, I guess that means no Entitlements, right? Or are Entitlements actually going to be different?).
Yay?
Great new feature, the developers are already passing on it!
So the confirmed list of 1080p games looks like this:
- Virtua Tennis 3
- Marvel Ultimate Alliance
- Lair
- NBA 07
- Ridge Racer 7
- Mobile Suit Gundam
- Gran Turismo : HD
- flOw
- Full Auto 2
And ofcourse Resistance is aiming for 1080p as well. Good to see developers don't find it too hard to implement 1080p. Especially as the PS3 version of these games seem to have improved graphics overall compared to the X360 version, since it would have been questionable if the higher resolution made the games look worse than their X360 counterpart.
And nice to see they've added new online modes for the PS3 version of Full Auto 2 as well compared to Full Auto on the X360. Now I just hope the gameplay improved considerably over the X360 version.
I'm still not sure why Sega made the first game for the Xbox 360 and then its sequel is an excluivse to the PS3. I would of thought Sega wanted more money. Still this game was alright on the 360.
The 360 version was good for younger kids. I have a 7 year old who loved it. It did have frame rate problems and was repetitive. But, kids don’t care about that so much. All games aren’t made for us dorks:)
