EA and France-based Ubisoft have been at odds for some time now. In December 2004, mega-publisher EA bought a 20 percent stake in Ubisoft-a move that the house of Rayman regarded as a "hostile takeover" of Sam Fisher proportions.
Ubisoft vowed to stay independent at the time, and it plans to keep it that way. "Our goal is not to sell to EA but to beat EA," said Laurent Detoc (pictured), president of Ubisoft North America in a Reuters interview this week.
"The Game Development World Championship (GDWC) celebrated the 2023 Summer Season with an Awards Stream on Thursday, September 21st. At the event, GDWC announced winners in 11 categories for the Summer Season." - GDWC.

Pretty much. Any devs future games should not start on unity. They've shown their cards like ms with the original Xbox one reveal.
Do beat EA, I hate them.
This sweet awesome post outlaw the next gen is going to make or break alot of companies and EA needs to realise that they cant survive on the same mediore franchises we've been playin since the PSone i dont want another need for speed of another frickin burnout gimme somethin fresh and new if thats not the case then Ubisoft isnt gonna be the only company beating EA bc the real talent of this smaller companies is going to shine.
Give them a lesson Ubi..it`s about time EA steps down and admit all that crap they been feeding us lately.
with ea.....
ubisoft produces the most high quality games while ea produces same crap every year....
but i think wii cant beat EA.. wii is a gimik itself.. a new game cube..
Really guys, I want EA to die and all but there's just one fact you might be overlooking. People buy Madden and other sports games because their there and their the newest game that no other developer can make.
Normal consumers don't realize how much EA is screwing them every year. And since EA will continue to make money they won't stop what their doing.
