We wanted to focus on the PlayStation 2 now that it is no longer being produced. Instead of asking the PSLS staff what our favorite game was, we’re going to go in a different direction and are asking: ‘What’s Your Most Memorable PS2 Game?.’ -PSLS
Looking back there were so many great games that generation. I wonder if in 10 years, we look back at the PS2 as we do now the NES?
I think that might happen sooner than 10 years.
I am already looking back with fondness. Dragon Quest VIII being one of my favorite experiences on that system. And of course, on the NES it was Dragon Warrior... so that stands to reason.
So many good games on the PS2! my most memorable games would have to be Final Fantasy X, both the Dark Cloud games, Metal Gear Solid 2, and the Jak and Daxter games.
Persona 4. Period.
Most memorable in order: 1) Final Fantasy X 2) Resident Evil 4 3) Kingdom Hearts 1
It would probably have to be some kind of tie between Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy X, and Metal Gear Solid 3. Although there were just so many amazing games on PS2. It's hard to even pick the top three.
All three are high up there on my list.
Yeah, i'd put San Andreas in instead of Kh but there ya have it. GT4 SotC Jak and Dax series MGS2 Vice city ... Damn I have bad memory Sumbodda remind me of teh gamez
All the games listed by Snookies12 and Irishguy95 are tops on my list. One game/series that's high on my list but not really critically acclaimed the way those games are is Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2... I miss those games. Also, I'll add SSX, Dragon Quest VIII, God of War 1 and 2, SOCOM, Gran Turismo... there's just too many to pick one.
Final Fantasy X, Ratchet and Clank, Primal, Shadow Hearts Covenant, GTA SA and the Jak trilogy, ... couldn't pick just one game :/
Yeah really difficult to choose during that generation of greats.
Not really all that difficult....SOCOM 2
Yeah, very hard to pick. so many great games
My pick is easy. http://www.youtube.com/watc...
It would have been fun to see the game get an HD release instead of a PS2 classic one.
Yeah, I would have rather had an HD remake of God Hand than the terrible job they did with Killzone HD.
Kingdom hearts II
The original Kingdom Hearts is what made me fall in love with games when I was around 10 years old. It had an excellent story, compelling characters and incredible bosses . It made me want to try out Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest after playing it. Ever since then, I have been a Square Enix fan. No game since then has been able to match the precipice of what Kingdom Hearts brought to me as a gamer.
I think Kingdom Hearts has to be one of the most influential games ever. In years to come I forsee the new generation of developers and designers talking about KH as an influence. I know so many people that played that game and years later still replay it. Without KH I know me and a lot of other people wouldn't be the same.
Dragon Quest VIII MGS3 GT4 FFX
good pick man Dragon Quest VIII Journey of the Curse king KH1 & KH2 All of the MGS FFX GTA San Andreas
FFXII FFX Sly Honour Among Theives Jak 3
Metal Gear Solid 2 Devil May Cry (1 and 3) Monster Hunter Onimusha Kingdom Hearts (both) Guilty Gear Dynasty Warriors And allot more I can't recall right now but will be upset that I forgot them later on!
Dark Cloud 2
Hell of a game.
War of the Monsters, Dynasty Warriors 5, Nightfire, and the SSX series were probably my favorite multiplayer games. But then there's Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, and so many more that filled my time with great solo experiences. The PS2 was so great, favorite console last gen.
Grandia II, DMC1 and Dragon Quest 8.
SOCOM 2 FFXI Gran Turismo 3 Okami Persona 3 FES
Silent Hill 2 and 3 Metal Gear Solid 3 and GTA 3
RIP PS2, you won't be forgotten.
Probably Vice City.
#1 Onimusha #2 Need for Speed Most Wanted #3 Devil May Cry
One stands out for me it's FINAL FANTASY X. That said so many others were so awesome it's hard to pick a runner up.
1. GTA III 2. Devil May Cry 3. FFX 4. Pro Evolution Series 5. Tekken Tag Touranment 6. Bully 7. God of War 1/2 8. MGS3
Grand theft auto San Andreas and Metal Gear solid 2
Resident Evil 4.
persona 4 my favorite game of all time (until persona 5 comes out)
Metal gear solid 3 and shadow of the colossus. Hands down best two ps3 games easy
Kingdom Hearts , Final Fantasy X , Shadow of the colossus , Fatal Frame III , Silent hill 2 - 3 , Rule of Rose , MGS 3 .. Those games are the reason why i'm falling in love with gaming ... even more ! This music will bring back so many memories for fatal frame 3 fans after finishing the game ~
GTA 3 without a doubt. By the end of the gen it wasn't the best game, but the first time I played it it felt revolutionary.
GTA series, Tekken Tag, Tekken 4, Shadow Hearts
Shadow of the Colossus.
too much great memories for just one game...but I'd pick Final Fantasy X....that was the very first game I played on PS2 and it's also my most played game on PS2. The story/setting was breathtaking and the characters and music were so awesome.
Mine has got to be Rouge Galaxy, Radiata Stories and Black. Those were my top memorable experience on the PS2 :'D Wont ever forget them :)
Metal Arms: Glitch in the System. Loved and played the hell out of that game.
1. Shadow of the Colossus 2. Devil May Cry 3 3. Kingdom Hearts or Ico (Couldn't choose) 4. Viewtiful Joe 1/2 5. Devil May Cry 6. Fatal Frame I/II/III (Love them all equally) 7. Devil May Cry 2 (Seriously. I enjoy it much more than most people.) 8. Kingdom Hearts II 9. Resident Evil 4 10. Okami
Mark of Kri, Final fantasy x, kingdom Hearts, Dark cloud, Shinobi, the bouncer, Gta series, the warriors, hitman, XIII, max Payne, viewtiful Joe, legacy of kain, MANHUNT, dead to rights, red dead revolver, way of the samurai... Ugh too many I can keep going.
No love for TimeSplitters 2 folks?? The jolly entertainment 4 player splittscreen matches brought upon me and my friends. I will never forget that. I'm disappointed..
Vice City or maybe Black those i just cant forget.
