Nintendo missing the interactive toy boat with ‘Disney Infinity’ reveal

XMNR: The “Skylanders” model of collectible toys sold with video games proved to be highly successful for Activision with $500 million in revenue for the franchise in 2012 in the United States alone. Disney jumped in the game Tuesday with the reveal of “Disney Infinity” for the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, Wii and Nintendo 3DS. That just leaves one question. How did Nintendo miss making the same move for its multitude of franchises or even just Pokemon alone?

still hoping for pokemon card game with Wii U, or stadium type game

memots2569d ago

one of the card could be Mario. Trowing mushroom and lasagna at the enemy,

Element : Tomato sauce.

@memots
Have you played Mario ever?

memots2569d ago (Edited 2569d ago )

yeah he beats up turtle to steal their coins.
You know like a bully and keeps trying to bang the princess but clearly all she wants to bang is that dinosaur Bowser.

@kirbyu , you take this stuff way to seriously.

I hope they don't jump on the bandwagon. I know I'd have to buy them all. I can't afford 700+ Pokemon toys. And I don't like the slogan "Gotta buy 'em all!"

lol thats why they should jsut stick to the card game, since peopel already collect the cards. And i know gamefreaks has no problem reprinting a few or just releasing a new set of cards. And of course you'd be able to get virtual cards during gameplay and stuff. But i do think this be a great way, to promote pokemon cards again, and get a big pokemon online game on the Wii u

kinda agree with Deku-Johnny here. 700+ of collectible figures is just too much, not to mention, every new iteration adds a couple.

what i'm thinking though is maybe Nintendo is working on the next Nintendo Land or probably an MMO with Nintendo characters (Nintendo Universe? or something) with their characters, and using the NFC. they can even enhance on it and not only can you scan the figures, but also character accessories and/or weapons. or maybe the next Smash Bros. can use the same tech. or probably with AR capability, a mixed action figure-card based RPG.

actually that doesnt do nothing to nintendo at all...if anything it shows just how much more pokemon will sell when it comes out
