GameShark previews Gran Turismo 5: Prologue

The true killer app for PlayStation 3 isn't Kratos' blades or at the end of a Helghan rifle scope or even a cutesy sandbag doll -- it's shifting Gran Turismo 5 into high gear. While Sony has yet to officially announce the next full installment of the enormously popular series, a teaser in the form of Gran Turismo 5: Prologue hits PlayStation 3 exclusively in mid-April. GameShark had the opportunity to test drive this high definition upgrade to the franchise during this week's Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.

"For everything that Prologue does well, there's one major component missing from its simulated driving: damage modeling. Once again the series fails to introduce the element and it's unlikely to make it into the full game....."

GameShark 'preview' = FAIL

the only thing that fails is GT not having damage yet.

To be honest. It is the Next Gen and it is 2008.
The full release is comming 2008-2009.
No damage yet?? then what is GT putting in the Nex-Gen table?
is it pitstop ??...where they only fix tires and fill gas??

The very keyword is "simulation"
if you fail to understand that word in Racing world... i hope i can make it clear to you in sports world...hence the name "MADDEN"

So your playing Madden 09... but yet.. you find out their are no injuries and fatigue? Taking so many tackles but no effect on the opposing team?

how about basketball... you think Kobe Bryant can play the whole 4 quarters without a break? or even an injury if he even does. That's not real... it becomes ARCADE.

I'm trying my best to make it really clear that Damage is needed.
That's all I'm saying. Nothing about console war or whatever.

Phantom disagrees?
quite sad.

I guess simulation has no value in GT

The preview fails because it says that damage is unlikely to appear in the full game (GT5) when it has already been confirmed that damage will appear in GT5. The site obviously isn't up-to-date with its GT news.
