The Worst Box Art of 2012

GamesRadar: "You have one chance--one chance--to make a first impression. So why would you squander it with a hideous image? Box art designers have failed to learn this lesson time and again, constantly slapping a repugnant visual onto the cover of their game and shipping it to store shelves. Though the well of horrid DS and Wii shovelware has been running dry as of late, we've still been able to wrangle together 50--count 'em, 50--specimens from the bottom of the bad box art barrel."

Hahaha, I laughed hard at the "Pedophile Fisherman Market" remark for the Vita fishing game...

Also sure, Hyperdimension 2 has underage girls on it, but at least it's colorful. Always thought it was a neat box art myself, despite not ever playing them. All the rest I agree on though, some seriously bad ones out there...

I have no idea what is this Western media obsession to bash anime related content that has 'supposedly' young girls. They mention it in reviews, previews, any time they have the chance they see it as a negative & i simply do not understand why.

I am an anime fan & i see no problem with Neptunia Mk2's artwork. It's colorful, adorable & lighthearted which really is what the game is really about.

These people are in the video game industry & a lot of games are made in Japan. If they cannot get over the fact that these images are common in the world of Japanese game development than they shouldn't be writing about it in the first place.

I do not know it just pisses me off the 'hate' for anime images involving 'young' girls....c'mon seriously THIS offends people?

I'm quite an anime fan myself, though I can kind of see how this might be a little weird to people who've never taken the time out to really give that media a try.

Yes they appear underage, yes they're wearing weird outfits, however it's not like they're posing naked or something. It's just what Japanese culture finds "cute". Honestly, if people WERE complaining about this, they live a very sheltered life because there are MUCH worse things out there. :]

Look these guys cover games for a living & doing so means playing & looking at games from Japan. If these guys still do not know the culture of Japan than they should not even be commenting about these sort of things.

Currently we all know we have problems with the 'violence' in video games supposedly being a factor in some horrible events. That all these shooters are painting video games in a bad light yet we have people being offended by a risque drawing A DRAWING!!! of young female characters??!!! Seriously do these people think looking at these will get them arrested....like what is the deal?

Sorry i am ranting but i notice this way to often & pretty fun games like Neptunia get bad review scores or bad rap just cause the reviewer find the images an issue.

Beacon Patrol, a Cooperative Digital Board Game, Will Sail Onto Steam in 2025

"Digital board games can be tons of fun, especially when they're cooperative. That's what's in store for Beacon Patrol from Assemble Entertainment. Based on the real-life board game by Torben Ratzlaff, Beacon Patrol has players work together to explore a map and create a network of coastal paths, all by placing tiles. It's a lot like Carcassonne and Kingdomino, but set on the high seas. The upcoming Steam version will support 4-player local co-op, and there's a single-player demo right now," says Co-Optimus.
