GDC 2008: IGN previews Penny Arcade Adventures

Microsoft showed off a handful of upcoming Xbox Live Arcade games at the Game Developers Conference this morning, including the first installment in Hothead Games' adventure role-playing game based on the Penny Arcade comic universe.

Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness Episode 1 is set in the 1920s and borrows the comic-book style of the strip created by Jerry Holkins (Tycho) and Mike Krahulik (Gabe). The game follows the zany misadventures of a dude whose house is destroyed by a giant robot as he's doing yardwork in a not-so-subtle nod to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

I remember playing the first inFAMOUS back in 2009. It completely changed my standards for the superhero genre and became one of my all-time favorite series.

May 2010 was simply amazing, considering what's typically released then. On top of those mentioned in the article, I heard some great things about the two arcade racers released during that time.
