In short, the sport of ice cross involves a bunch of ice skater types starting at the top of an icy track that contains all manner of twists, turns, bumps, and jumps, and they have to race to the finish line in the fastest possible time. Kind of a little like downhill mountain biking. Without the bike. And with skates. And ice. And…well, you get the picture.
Red Bull gives you wings and apparently ice skates, as the game Red Bull Crashed Ice Kinect shows. In this Kinect only title, you're racing on a frozen downhill course with obstacles to tackle. Although it seems like just another generic racing game spit out for Kinect, it actually offers a bit of solid game play. On the downside, those experiences are rather short-lived.
Worth Playing - Fly down Ice Cross Downhill tracks at incredible speed, carve through turns, pull off stunts and crash your way to victory across five tracks. Take the prize and become the world champion on the leaderboards, battling it out with other players around the world.
Game Informer - Ice is unpredictable. For as long as I can remember, any sport that used ice skating as its backbone has fascinated me. Every time a competitor steps on it, not only do they have to navigate the ice’s own obstacles, but they’re usually adding on stunts. Whether it’s landing a triple axel or deking around a group of defenders to score a goal, these athletes have no fear of the ice’s risks. So much so that some are actually willing to increase them.
