GDC 2008: Gears 2 Taken To The Limited

I bought the limited edition of Gears of War 1 so I might do it for Gears of War 2 if they add in a few more stuff. Another art book, maybe the soundtrack on a CD, the usual behind the scenes stuff, free gamerpictures and themes and some other stuff.

yea the artwork in the LE was pretty awesome. even tho the text was pretty much the intro to the game. the developer interview with those kids wasnt that bad either, we got to see what it was like down in epic's studio

I LOVE gears of war so there is no way i will miss the Limited Edition...
although the second one is kinda lame, im wondering who the hell came up with the black & white artwork... i hope this is not the final artwork.
SO anyone who consider himself as a collector should get one...

As I will buy more than one Xbox 360 game for my flawless Xbox 360.

My xbox rrod on me in dec and since then I haven't played it more than 2hrs straight. I even went almost 2 weeks w/o cutting it on. I can't trust it. I buy my multiplats on my PS3 b/c it's more dependable IMO and the online is free. However if your Xbox hasn't died on you congrats. I hope it continues to work well for ya.

The titles you mentioned for the PS3 will keep you busy enough. I have all three consoles, so I will bbe playing all the above (I m still undecided about KZ2) and Gears of War 2. You should consider buying a 360 and enjoy the fruit for both worlds.

...I'll be busy renting GT5 Prologue, KZ2 & ROM2 for my PS3, and Fable 2, Halo Wars, & Splinter Cell Conviction for my 360, to see which ones are worth buying. MGS4, Ninja Gaiden 2, & Gears 2 are solid pre-orders. Too bad you can't enjoy the BEST OF BOTH WORLDS...

P.S.: The real question is... which version of Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and Grand Theft Auto IV and Saints' Row 2 should I get, the 360 or PS3 versions?

Is gonna be great I just hope It doesn't turn out to be like Halo 3 but I can bet this game is worth getting even if you don't own a 360 but oh well, you can always wait for PC remember all X-box 360 exclusive games will be available on PC is either soon or latter so it kind of mean no point of getting a 360 since you can get for the PC.

But the main advantage of the PC is that the It doesn't has RROD or worries about disc scratched so it kind of giving you the relieve that it wouldn't give you the shiver down to your spine when you playing it

@ PopEmUp- I think I understand what you are trying to say..but...Yes, there are reasons to buy a 360 to play it's exclusive,PC titles. True several Xbox exclusives come to PC (Gaming for Windows). First of all, lets take a person with no console or PC, or non gaming PC, or older PC. Now they could go out and pay for upgrades or gaming computer, either which will be more than buying a 360. What PC can you buy for $279 - $459 that you can run these games on? Also, anyone who has games like Gears of War and play on XBL (multiplayer), this experience is awesome, I have never had that much fun on PC multiplayer (I have more fun on PSN than multiplayer PC too). For thise who like achievements you will not be getting those on the PC. Let's face it some people prefer PC games or FPS on PC over the console and vica versa.

As far as the RROD and scratched disk are concerned, I own 2 original Launch 360's and have never ad a scratched disk or RROD. I know there are some issues, but I do not get a shiver when I play my 360. Even in a worst case scenario my 360 RROD'd I can get it fixed for free or buy another, so I would be out $459 (elite model). On the other hand I would blow a bolt if my Alienware gaming rig died on me.

I just hope MS has learned from the Halo 3 & Lost Odyssey packaging blunders because I would be very angry to have my discs scratched, stacked or placed in ghetto ass white envelopes lol.

...that Gears 2 will fit onto ONE DISC. If not, I hope that MS is working on an alternative to what happened to Lost Odyssey. I don't think MS can afford to have too many AAA titles on 3 or 4 DVDs....

Gears of War was/is a great game, one may call it the pinicle of the 360 even though it was released during the 360's first year. It is a fantastic game...single player, co-op, online multiplayer...all are a great experiance. This is not to say that the developer can't screw things up. Look at many of the games out there that have sequals where the sequal was a mear shadow of the original.

This is going to be a purchase for me, I still play the original from time to time and like it greatly and it was one of the games that pushed one of my friends towards purchasing a 360, but then XBL had all of its troubles after Christmas so he picked up a PS3 instead. Not a big deal as he and I enjoy playing UT3.

If Epic does not mess this sequal up, I think it has the potential to be a system seller.

They need to focus on a better story, more weapons, vehicles, graphics, and add blood this time and cut the strawberry juice out. they also need to improve the running in the gameplay. and the most important of all, they need to make it 4 player splitscreen and that is y Halo is more successful than this
