Ascension, a freeware 2D side-scrolling psychological survival horror game, is the latest release from Magnesium Ninja Studios. Taking cues from popular predecessors like Silent Hill and Lone Survivor, Ascension explores the classic story of an individual thrust into darkness and forced to fight to return to the light and loved ones.
Hearthstone is a great collectible card game, but it isn't for everyone. Plenty of similar games are available if you're looking for something familiar yet different.
From the review: "As far as deckbuilding games go, Ascension is great. The tutorial makes it easy to learn the core mechanics and the in-game rulebooks help with the mechanics from the expansion sets. That said, the single player game could have been improved a bit and Online Multiplayer could use some changes, such as starting the game as soon as the required number of players are ready. If you like the game itself, you’ll likely want to check out the Steam version."

"Let me just get this out of the way: Ascension is my favorite deckbuilding game of all time. There are lots of fun deckbuilders out there, but nothing compares to Ascension. I’ve played the original tabletop version and I’ve also played it on my iPad. And now that it’s available on the PC, I’ve played that version as well. Sadly, I have to say that the PC version, titled Ascension: Deckbuilding Game, is my least favorite way to play the game. However, despite the performance issues I had with the game, playing it on your PC might be the easiest way to gain access to the world of Ascension. Short of spending tons of money on the tabletop version or playing it on your mobile device, that is."
Hmm. This looks interesting. I haven't gotten into a card game in a long time.
