This is basically Live and PSN with a bunch of ii's + a bunch of stuff no one will use. Nintendo hasn't been good since the N64 days GC was decent. Im waiting for xbox 3 and/or Ps4

Great video, and it's very informative.

I like how MiiVerse will serve as a twitter like interface, but be somehow like a discussion board. I don't know if they will have several "boards" from each game or just one general for the entire game.

Everytime I get stuck in a game to the point I start to get annoyed, I just prefer to look for some hint (or the whole thing) I need to pass the game, so with Miiverse, if it works right, it will be easy to just read some comments from the community to get help.

The downside is that there will be a lot of offensive drawings and comments, and don't forget the trolls, so I hope there will be some kind of moderation, or at least the ability to block people you don't want to be bothering.

CBaoth2650d ago

You do realize that completely defeats the purpose of a social network?

But don't worry amigo, Nintendo will continue to cultivate its "Disney of the East" image by heavily moderating Miiverse. In fact, they already stated it may take up to 30 minutes to filter your posts during heavy traffic. It'll be easier to pause the game, look up the solution online, and return to finish it before ever receiving help from the community.

Ahh well, anyway I plan on using Miiverse as much as I use Sony's Home lol...

FlairSomewhere2650d ago

They've gone on record to explain that simple posts do not require moderation. Only after repeated bouts of a user's troublemaking and subsequent flagging will the beat-down commence.

ronin4life2649d ago

What social forum on the internet IS NOT moderated?

N4G is moderated by its residence. Which is a huge mistake as it enables powerful or in place politics to censor what the in power mods don't want other hearing while enabling their own propaganda to slip through((like all the "positivity" surrounding the new cod for vita)

ThanatosDMC2650d ago

Yay, FREE online gaming. Glad they're not copying MS while still copying what Sony and MS are doing. UI looks a lot like Live, switching apps on the fly while keeping game memory intact like PS Vita, and Miiverse is like PS Home and Near App.

I hope they have something a long the line of cross game chat.

I doubt Miiverse will allow drawings or those game chat. We'll just see a lot of penis pictures then the media will go balls... hmm... lol

I thought Nintendo wanted to appeal to the hard core?
Yes, it has a decent pad, but the games are mostly just ports of all existing games or uninspired sequels like Mario. The system lacks power, and the UI is childish.

CaptainN2650d ago (Edited 2650d ago )

1st there aren't that many ports......(which by the way were all upgraded)

Mass Effect 3
Ninja Gaiden 3

Other games just came out in the last 2 to 3 weeks, so they are not ports.....

Assassins Creed 3
Call of Duty BO2
Sonic All Star Racing
Tekken Tag 2

As for uninspired sequels.....really ???? Most are exclusive to the system

Bayonetta 2 (Baynoetta fans went crazy because it went to Nintendo)
Rayman Legends (deff shows Ubisoft was taking advantage of the Gamepad)
Pikmin 3 (people have been waiting years for this to happen)
Scribblenauts Unlimited (added a lot more to the gameplay)

And then you have games that are exclusive to the Wii-U:

Zombi-U (said to be the best example showing off Gamepad intergration in a game)
Wonderful 101 (Gamers all have a positive outlook on this original title)
Monster Hunter Tri HD (first game to implement cross play with 3DS)
Dragon Quest 10 (Online MMORPG)

So no, the points you make are invalid and show you really have done no research on the system and its current and upcoming games. If you are going to troll against Nintendo and the Wii-U, at least get your facts together before making yourself look uneducated.

Stop following the trend where its "cool" to hate Nintendo. Its easy to say oh look Nintendo made another Mario sequel that's "uninspired"

As for the system lacking do realize that this system is capable of outputting games 1080P natively right? You also realize that its producing images on TWO SCREENS at once right....with the potential for a THIRD!!! You also realize that this machine has 2 Gigs of Ram, which is a lot more than current gen. Oh and the disc read speed is 2.5 times faster than the PS3. Add on the fact the CPU & GPU are combined which also helps optimize performance. Please, don't do this to yourself anymore, its not a good look !!!

As for the UI....try actually using it before judging how "childish" it is. Having a social community doesn't appear to be childish, nor does having instant internet browser capability in the middle of gameplay. Being able to add gamers to your friend list that actually are from a common community seems more adult like than childish.

Ippiki Okami2649d ago (Edited 2649d ago )

"you do realize that this system is capable of outputting games 1080P natively right?"

FUD. No it does not. Nintendo have made no mention that any of their games can display native 1080 @60fps graphics. When they did with New Super Mario Bros they had to change the wording from, "it displays in 1080p" to "displays in High Definition" on their website.

CaptainN2649d ago (Edited 2649d ago )

Actually Ippiki, the system can produce 1080p games natively...Nintendo has said that none of its launch games will be in 1080p....that doesn't not mean it can't. And if you need an example,Toki Tori 2 will be running natively in 1080p. Now given its a digital game and not a retail one, but again this is the begining of the systems life. The system is very much capable of outputting the games natively in 1080p if the developers choose to do so. To actually expect every launch title to run 1080p native is rediculous....the developers need time.

Cut it out. If those are your reasons for not liking the Wii U rather than it simply not having games your interested in then that's weak. Play the games or don't play em simple as that. Cut the bull**** out.
