Sony wants to track your tongue, they want to track your body, they want to track your emotions, and now they want to track your eyes. - PSLS
What's next? Seriously!
Still five systems away from the PS9 http://youtu.be/Vdh4TqWFfX4
if we get a playstation every 6 years then five more upgrades over 30 years then ps9! wow can't wait!
Random patents are filed all the time by every company. Some people bellow are taking this too seriously calling it gimmick and trolling about it.
I think it is pretty clear what is next. And it is this, http://www.youtube.com/watc... Knowing how Sony are a Japanese company, they would like to make us all megaman cyborgs. Perfect, a legion of Sony drones. lololol edit: I realize my "trolling" must improve. It is not quite as retarded as @QuebecSuperstar's, but it's getting there. :P
Do it Sony I want my augmented reality ASAP! Sony ALWAYS wants to be ahead, wants to be pioneers in technology, and this patent looks good, just look at the bigger picture it will be cool addition in not so distant future The year is 2053, it's a time of great innovation...yeah too much Deus Ex Sony? :] dream big though, it will happen eventually
I agree. I couldn't be bothered to put contacts in for everyday use. I certainly won't for video games.
Gimmicks, gimmicks, more gimmicks......
If by gimmick you mean another way to track the behavior of their consumers. Then I would agree, otherwise it's not a gimmick, it's a marketing and advertising tool, that may have some cross over functionality that will give yet another way to manipulate our favorite medium.
That's what they said to the Playstation controller before, what with too many buttons and all...
His trolling level... it ..it is to hard for me to distinguish whether he is of this world or not. AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! ~gnaws off arms
His Trolling Level, Could it Be?!! its OVER 9 THOUSAND!!!!!!!.........etc or ninety Hundred, i hate when people say 36 hundred instead of saying 3 thousand six hundred
Don't know who in their right mind would disagree with you. This is not going to expand the medium whatsoever. It's just another stupid patent for the corporate trolls.
Clam up. The big three file abstract patents every day and people like you always cry "gimmicks! How dare they force products that don't even have any production plans for down my throat!!!!" Stop getting worked up every time a patent is filed like it's releasing for the ps3 next week.
They really don't want to know what I'm looking at.
Omg they will know if my body is ready
Reggie Phils Aim? you REDDY?
One thing you should know about life. You only have 2 eyes, and 2 eyes only. Don't risk it with this kind of stuff. Once your eyes are permanently damaged, they are gone for good.
Virtual Reality, can we just confirm the PS4 is what it will be all about, just based off the patents?
How will we be in a virtual world without Walking into the Wall? we need a pad thats like a treadmill made of small bearings that can go in any direction...so you can run around in virtual 2025 Afghanistan with the Russians
Not like running around the room, but like actually feeling like you are they're, like wearable headware that doesn't require you to move around that much, but the game makes you feel as if you really are moving, like, similar to cartoons when they put you in the world, just that you yourself isn't there, like, you know...
As if putting on 3D glasses isn't bad enough for some people, imagine what they would think of contacts lenses.
It's funny, a couple of years ago I was thinking about the next generation of gaming and had a similar idea. I was thinking of making a virtual reality-based console which would come with "controllers" that could stimulate the 5 senses- one of them being contact lenses allowing you to see the game world. As a user above stated, I also thought about how games built around this technology would be able to function as there are various problems, such as people running into walls. I came up with two solutions: either a treadmill that allows for 360 degrees of playing field or a giant hamster-like ball centered by support beams which would also allow freedom of mobility. With these ideas, gaming would be revolutionary and a powerful medium of entertainment. Hopefully existing companies such as Sony and Microsoft, or even a new ambitious company can implement these ideas into next gen consoles.
