Gaming industry turns to Black Ops 2, Wii U for 'much needed boost' in sales

GameZone writes, "November has always been a big year in the gaming industry. As the start of the Holiday season, many publishers wait until now to release their big blockbuster titles. We also have the arrival of Nintendo's Wii U, the first system in the "next-gen" console era."

So if the WiiU flops should we all start getting worried about next gen?

No. Nintendo drew a line in the sand with the Wii and chose casual gamers over core gamers and many core gamers like myself won't make the same mistake in buying the WiiU. The gimmick worked with the Wii but I doubt lightning will strike twice. Those same casuals will not spend another $300/$400 on the WiiU when they already have a Wii just sitting there collecting dust. Core gamers are the ones who buy consoles at launch and Nintendo turned their backs on them.

As of right now the next PS console is the only one I'm getting day one because I know Sony in about games for the core and not gimmicks and kiddy shovel ware like Nintendo and MS. I'm not interested in the WiiU. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. I have to wait and see what MS will do with the next Xbox. If it's heavily Kinect focused then I will pass on the next Xbox too. Like I said, fool me once...............

Well said. The truth hurts, but must be told.
