17 Games we could never get rid of

While this is normal for those games that ultimately suck, there are always those golden gems that will forever hold a place in our collections.

I've never traded a game in, but had plenty of games I've loaned to friends that have never returned ( 1993 - a fair chunk of my Sega Megadrive collection), and games w flatmate loaned to PEOPLE I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW ( 1996 - most of my PSX collection).

I've been gaming near 30 years, and even some of those games I didn't love so much, I still wouldn't mind playing now. It's not worth the five or ten bucks trade in, when that "10 years ago" nostalgia kicks in!

I am the same way. I tell people I dont loan games or quickly change the subject when they ask. A good line I use when they seem persistant to borrow it is "this game is so good you need to buy it. You need to own it. Support the developers...blah blah". Works like a charm.

I received Mortal Kombat; however loaned it to a mate on launch day... let's just say I never saw it again after that.

I know what you mean. This gen I have lost kz3, heavy rain, assassins creed 2, metal gear solid 4 and resistance 2 because I loaned them to a friend.

He loaned them to some of his friends and they have lost/sold them or whatever. I don't want to ask him to pay me money for the copies because he is my friend and I don't want to be a jerk lol.

It kinda pisses me of though.

if anything your friend is a jerk. its his/her responsibility that you got your game back. he should pay you back. it doesnt make you a jerk, if anything it makes you a push over if you dont tell him to pay you back

I would stop being friends with someone that does that. Although i have removd people from my life for much less. I once dumpd a girl for wearing her nasty lazy day sweatpants when i went over to her house to hangout with her. So i am a pretty cold person anyways.

i too never get rid of my games... i went to best buy to buy a game, and i only go there since i hate gamestop so much.... but now best buy employees are forced to ask you if you want to trade in your games... i had to tell the guy, LOOK! I DONT SELL ANY OF MY GAMES!!! that shut him up :)

I get rid of most games i only keep very rare games discontinued titles,i trade the majority at the start of each gen.

I only trade in gaming "duds" for a while my taste was pretty impeccable, to the point I thought I'd never trade a game in again. I've been fooled by the hype train a couple times this gen TBH...

Oh yea, I now only keep standout old sports games. I don't need every year of hockey for example. Unless it has a fav. roster or gameplay feature.

P.S. IMO I'd trade at least half of these games in! LoL

The only time I trade anything in is if I know I can get more than half back on what I paid and I've beaten the game and doubt I'll play it again. It's the hoarder in me. I even buy some games on PS3 that I already own on Xbox 360 for cheap knowing I'll end up loading it, play it for a short period of time and throw it on the shelf just because I want to have it in my collection.

I keep all of my ps3 games and cases with the exception of giving LBP2 & Infamous 2 to my nephew and sister.

Gamesop usaully give you so little for old trade in's anyway.
You can sell via Ebay,... but it's like fishing... sorta.

Err Final Fantasy VIII, Persona 3, 4, MGS4, Valykria Chronicles, SoC, Ico, Morrowind(First WRPG), Heavy Rain, FFX, FFXIII for me.

To be honest, I quite liked AC series, but I hate how they are milking it constantly. NEW THINGS PEOPLE!

Wish I owned an Xbox lol, I want to play Halo So goddamn much. I have my PS3 though, so I'll be looking to play some good games this year, also, will purchase an Xbox as it starts to get cheap(India, Xbox price 600$).

Yes. I guess people have their opinions, and I respect them. However, I have my own opinions. Game gets really good after a few chapters, but yeah, getting through those first SLOW chapters can be tedious. XIII was fun.

Usually the ones i trade-in is that so i can get another game instead and then later i get the one i previously owned for a cheaper price.

Vanquish, Twisted Metal PS3 and Black, Borderlands 2, God of War 1 2 and 3, Deus Ex Human Revolution, Dead Space 1 and 2, Infamous 1 and 2, Resistance 2 and 3, Killzone 2 and 3, Uncharted 1 2 and 3. That is my list.

Soon Hitman Absolution, Dead Space 3, God of War Ascension, GTA5, + many more...

The games just keep improving as years go by and the games get better and the graphics and gameplay make it so they dont become too dated.

The only games I've traded in the last 10 years or so have been FPS's. I decided to get my most for Halo 3 (disappointed) and Battlefield 3 after I beat the campaign.

I can't tell you how many games i've traded in, then obsessively had to buy them back a few months to a year later. It pays to only buy games that you know are permanent keepers. It's a tough thing to do in this market of overhyped "must-own" games that don't end up living up.

I still have my Saturn and Dreamcast, and all of the games I bought. I've lost a few to friends, because at the time games were expensive so you either traded or lent them to friends.
Add to that all of the current gen systems and games I've bought that I never sold nor traded, it's making me wish I had more space in my apartment to display it all, lol.
I'm sure I could unearth my Snes, if only I knew where it was.
What saddens me the most is how many games there are and how little time there is.

They're missing the Batman Arkham series, Killzone 2, Red Dead Redemption, etc. There should be a lot more than 17 when you look at some of the games that made the list.

Its a lot easier for me to part way with games now as many DON'T hold a special memory with me, and tons of games now aren't made with that "magic" anymore. When all you're playing is becomming more and more generic... shooter this, shooter that... there's just nothing to really cling to anymore. Also when I need to afford new games, I can easily part was with the games of today than I was able to do with games in the past!

Love how MW3 is on there, but COD4 isn't. Plus, most of these games are honestly just average compared to every video game ever. They're this generations best, but it doesn't mean they're worth keeping. Give me Super Mario World over pretty much every game outsie of 1-3 on that list every day.

my cuz stole legacy of kain blood omen for ps1 with original booklet out of my dresser (cant prove it was him but know he did it)and still have MGS3 soo that being said gamefly keeps me from owning games i always keep FF games for a year r 2 but they disappear in lifes adventurers like my bootleged tenchui 2 and dragon ball GT on ps1 (was funny here in america super sayian didnt excised but was playing a game in japanese with SS4)lol

I learned my lesson about getting rid of games when I got rid of a lot of PS1 titles. Not sure how many PS2 games I have but without a doubt have around 60 PS1 titles I got back and then 70-80 PS3 titles. One of my proudest collections though would have to be a vast collection of Atari 2600 3 consoles, accessories and around 100-200 games.

Last game I traded in was MW2. I make it standard to Never trade in a Final Fantasy, KH, Pokemon, mario, or zelda game.

Wow. This has to be the worst list I've ever seen lol (worst in terms of game quality on the list. I have no qualms with the writers opinions). I sold Portal 2 2 days after I bought it, seeing as how I had paid 60 dollars for a total of 8 hours of content (including the co-op). Assassin's Creed's games were sold. LBP 2 was not particularly special, so I sold that too (still have 1). Modern Warfare 3 was probably on the list so Doritos would pay the article writer for the hits.

i have over 450 pc games, 99% of them are in FLAWLESS condition, I replay games all the time, the games I have gotten rid of, I usually regret it.

I own over 150 ps2 games (i play them on my pc in 1080p), around 30 ps1 games, 25 wii games (play on my pc in 1080p) some O.G. xbox games, about 15 ps3 games and 10 xbox360 games

I traded in 100's of ps2 and xbox and gamecube games back in the day, I wish I never would have sold any!

They end up being worth money in the long run and very hard to get.

I usually hate to get rid of games, but I have to every once and awhile to afford newer ones and such, since I get minimal hours at work. I still have all 70+ of my Playstation 2 games, though.
