It is way too easy for people to get stuck in a routine of playing the same mundane games which force you down a narrow path without giving you the choice of how you’d like to play it. Deus Ex is an example of a game which gives you the freedom to decide how to attempt a mission, or how to interact with another character. Dishonored takes this further, and enhances the freedom within the story and puts the entire game into the player’s hands. It is way too easy for people to get stuck in a routine of playing the same mundane games which force you down a narrow path without giving you the choice of how you’d like to play it. Half-Life 2 art director and Dishonored designer Viktor Antonov has died aged just 52.
One of my biggest art heroes. His work and vision were truly one of a kind, and he’s been a huge inspiration to my own work. Such a heartbreaking loss.
Remember seeing Dishonored for the first time when it released, fell in love with the art style straight away, so striking! And because of it, still holds up and will for years to come, RIP Viktor
So sad to hear this. I absolutely love the Dishonored series and love the world and art style. It looks great and unique. I'm still hoping for a Dishonored 3
WolfEye Studios president and co-founder of Arkane Studios Raphaël Colantonio has said Dishonored and Prey fans “will be happy” with his new studio's next game.
Ouch, already placing a sales cap on this is potentially bad as these games never seem to sell all too well. Hopefully the budget is in check so no one gets laid off after launch.
Fuck yeah. Even if it’s just a spiritual successor I want more titles like Dishonored in terms of art style, design and gameplay
"As a developer - and as a player - it's always sad and it always sucks to see studios close and devs lose their jobs. I really hope all those people land on their feet, because I know our indusutry is better with them in it," Patel tells the outlet. "As for me and how I look at things, I guess first and foremost: I don't believe in living in fear," the Avowed director.
Then gets shut down the next day. They should know better than to talk crazy like that.
Oh, boy. Here comes another shitstorm
Not confused by the score given some parts of the review seem nothing but positively glowing!
Just had a quick look at the review and they confused the bone charm perks with the abilities you unlock by finding runes throughout the game...not sure how they managed that as they talked about the runes and the abilities like Blink just before it.
All in all, it's a very positive review with a strangely low score. Presentation, graphics and sound scores are very low for some reason, despite them having no problems with the graphics. It's basically a 7/10 score they gave, and I think the score is more than a little harsh considering the review text has only minor criticisms.
Personally, I thought the game was great. You can become quite over powered by the end, but frankly, that just added to the fun for me.
I agree with the score. I found Dishonored boring.
The positives that the reviewer listed compared tot he negatives doesn't reflect the score.
If I had just read that bit, sounded like the reviewer would give the game a 85/100 or something.
I didn't mind the story at all. Loved the gameplay and ...
I am probably going to get lots of disagrees with this, but I actually prefered the LOOK of this game over Uncharted 2/3.
Now yes Uncharted 2 is better GRAPHICALLY, but I loved the art style of Dishonored more, making it more pleasing to look at.
