Looking at Tropico 4 Gold and coming up with something new to say without sounding like the game’s biggest cheerleader is a tall order. The core gameplay is outstanding and between the aesthetic, the voicework and the music, it oozes personality. Tropico strikes a balance between offering deeply strategic, compelling mechanics without taking itself too seriously. And it is the perfect leadership simulation. Some surprising absences dull the shine of the package, but all in all, Tropico 4 Gold is a great pickup if you missed this game the first time around."
