This year’s Gamer’s Day was expected to host 5-10 thousand attendees but instead, Sony got their hands full with an estimated 30-50 thousand eager gamers. It was so overwhelming, that Sony had to cancel the show.
The Mayhem skip to 5 mins into the video to see what really happens.
to cut to the chase http://www.youtube.com/watc... http://www.youtube.com/watc... Proof that America is not the world in gaming. I saw a similar scenario with GT5 in the Middle East Only in the US & UK media is there so much hate for Sony PlayStation which is rather sad. As you can see this is PlayStation's market: no toddlers, no soccer mom's, no Just Dancers, no girls, no booth babes, no 5 year olds trapped in a 25 year old's body, in the video. Just gamers & games. Sony PlayStation has been loyal to this demographic since 1994.For 15 years Sony who has succeeded in taking away that kiddie image from video games and transformed it into a more mature & legitimate form of adult entertainment.
Well said buddy, well said...
couldn't have put that any better. well said.
Have another bubble :)
amen brother! preach it!
@axelstone Ok, have fun when matchmaking puts you in a Saudi Arabian lobby. quote: "Sony PlayStation has been loyal to this demographic since 1994.For 15 years Sony who has succeeded in taking away that kiddie image from video games and transformed it into a more mature & legitimate form of adult entertainment." Looks at Wonderbook - Book of Spells ....-> Cool story bro
Here's a photo coverage :P i did for the crowded fans... http://www.bit.ly/Gamersday well you might not understand it xD but the pix are pretty clear :P.. PS: It's a multiple page post XD
Wow, that's intense! I hope no-one got hurt at all.
Damn! If they were gonna make it free, how did they not expect thousands and thousands of gamers to flock to it XD
because as shown in the beginning of the video it usually isn't that crazy.... maybe its a good sign for gaming though.... With all the doom and gloom articles people keep making when not realizing gaming has become bigger then ever before so when gaming isn't doing good as a previous year .. aka some of its biggest financial years ever... it doesn't mean that the industry is doing bad its just going through peaks and valleys like every other generation just more publicized now.... we have 3 healthy consoles and still a good amount of games being pushed out every month and looks like that will continue all the way up to the next systems..... Gamers F*#% Yeah!
LOL @ the long ass line for AC3 :D
Admit it, you would have been in that line too if you had been there.
game does look pretty sweet.....
LOL @ the no-wait line for BEN 10 :)
True story, man. True story
I'd probably get annoyed, give up and just go home lol. That many people would drive me crazy
I agree. I can't be in places with that many people crowded together.
I went to the gamestop expo in houston this year the lines werent that bad but they were annoying especially BLOPS 2. I actually couldnt play some of the games because of the lines but it was great to play so many games before evryone else! :D And alot of the people were kind enough to pass the controller to me when they saw me waiting not hogging it, gotta love gamers well most of them at least :P This expo is a good sign for gaming in the Middle East there are alot of gamers here they mostly play FIFA and COD but their branching out to other genres. The Middle East is no longer a niche market and can only mean more expos here in the future, which is GREAT! They wont have a problem selling tickets...
It seems that we are a army of gamers on this world :)
based on playing this army online... I hope they never get real guns.... some people are just ...ugh... yeah... lol
And we'r all ready for the zombie outbreak :P
Jason?....Jason!....Jason!.... Jason? (Where's that red balloon?)....Jason!!
. I'll give you a bubble for that.
Brilliant Sir just Brilliant!
Gaming is serious business!!!
Imagine if we had these events in India :)
I LOVE SONY!
No crap its obvious in every comment u make thats why I dont take you seriously.
Free event, and more than 3X the expected attendees, yet I bet "journalists" are going to find way to make this a negative -_-
i would have been nice to be there. especially if they had tlou playable demo.
To be fair, this is kind of extremely short sighted on Sony's part, I mean what kind of HR/PR Department wouldn't have looked at this and thought, "Huh...we're probably gonna have a lot more people than this..." You ALWAYS Plan for more than you expect, it's the golden rule of planning any event.
Average attendance was a lot smaller last year.
... the turnout this year was roughly 5 times the average of previous years. Unless you're expecting VERY small numbers(like, one or two people), it's pretty silly to even THINK of preparing for that sort of difference.
no shyt .. we are gamers why wouldnt you expect a massive amount of gamers
Because it's a PR stunt. Book a small venue knowing it's too small, make headlines.
Did it look like a small venue to you in anyway. Specially when you consider there avg attendance was 3-5000 in the last 3 years.
Im from Kuwait if I heard about this expo I probably would have tried to go, thank god I didnt...
How about close the doors after you reach capacity. That would be too logical though.
it is logical but but i'd feel bad for all the people left out >.<
Where da booth babes at?
Saudia Arabia: booth babes aren't exactly welcome there in the way we think of them.
I know. That's why I asked. lol
They were there. They were the ones with one of their socks rolled down to (god forbid) their ankles. Pretty racy I thought.
no booth babes because they couldn't get away with it at this venue? bu-bu-but "As you can see this is PlayStation's market: no toddlers, no soccer mom's, no Just Dancers, NO GIRLS, NO BOOTH BABES..." lol @axelstone above, and the myriad of idiots who agreed.
sony should have it at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre The venue is the largest exhibition centre in the Middle East
never underestimate the 'pulling' power of playstation!
They have a good reason to be excited about... Props to our overseas brothers. Fans reunite!
Very Strong.... Very Strong
