Plus XP: Rocksmith : Full Review

GuitarGirl24 from Plus XP writes "As anyone who knows the PlusXP history will know my screen name GuitarGirl24 comes in part from my well known love of music games. Since the launch of the first Guitar Hero I was hooked to anything which emulate the experience of being a rock star, and since then I have played witness to the spectacular rise and fall of this genre. After the recent losses suffered by both the Guitar Hero and Rockband series I finally made my peace with the fact that this genre had failed, however to my great surprise I found out that this year Ubisoft planned to enter this market with their latest release, Rocksmith. Unlike earlier music games Rocksmith planned to bridge the gap between music and gaming once and for all by using gaming to teach player to actually play the guitar. The plan was to make a game which would be played by guitarists and amateurs alike, shaking off the taboo surrounding guitar based gaming and closing the gap between actual guitarists and guitar games. Being fortunate enough to have a neglected, but really quite cool guitar sitting in the corner of my flat I decided it was time to break back into the music genre and give this game a chance."
