‘Borderlands 2′ next DLC is Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage

It’s probably not very fun for Gearbox to have all of its DLC outed before there’s even a chance to announce it, but it looks like the next piece of content for the much-played Borderlands 2 will be titled “Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage.”

With the trophy/achievement names (and of course the picture) I do wonder if it will be based around vehicular combat.

I am also wondering if it will be reminiscent of Moxxi and that DLC for the original Borderlands...I would think and hope not since it doesn't mention anything about "arenas" or anything of the sort.
I wonder what this has to do with being an achievement though "Obsessed – Collected 10 pictures of Moxxi in Campaign of Carnage (Gold)".

Other than that it's strange to base a single DLC around a manufacturer...In a way I'm hoping it isn't added into the Season Pass, but I haven't seen what it brings...so, can't judge just by the title.

I hope this comes out seriously in about a month and they take their time with this and upcoming DLC. It definitely seems they are able to put it out at a faster rate than normally thought. I'm trying to finish the campaign with my Mechromancer (or hit level 30 because I THINK that's where Normal caps out the first DLC) as I went back to Normal with Maya and that's as high as it placed it.

acutally thought about it...Knoxx was based around the Atlas Corporation...I guess just because it has a weapon manufacturers name in the title doesn't mean it should be discounted.

Freddy_Millz14223d ago (Edited 4223d ago )

The main quest in the original was based around the Atlas Corp, Island of Dr Ned was based around the Jacobs Corp, Knoxx was indeed based off of Atlas again, last dlc with the assassin Claptrap and main questline with BL2 was Hyperion.

I too thought it wouldnt be a good idea to base dlc around Corps back in the day but now i encourage it. I absolutely LOVE Torgue and Vladof Corp's weapons and i hope to see more variants in the dlc packs. I really hope there is a Tiny Tina dlc and a Malawin pack as well...I love Ashley Burch...and fire.

The guns that helped me the most, especially during second playthrough, were the Tediore exploding smg's, that you throw upon reload. They were hitting at well over 40000 per direct hit.

CrimsonessCross4223d ago (Edited 4223d ago )

Ah yeah...it was just tired speculation, plus the mission called motorhead, as I figure if you call someone a motorhead they are a vehicle fanatic.

I knew Dr.Ned was Jakobs, I just didn't want to be wrong haha. I just couldn't recall entirely what each DLC and what the game was based off of. Good to see you actually brought up info I've completely forgotten.

I wonder how much DLC they plan to put out though, since they stated there will be some not part of the Season Pass.

i remember they said recently (no idea where it was now) that they would also be releasing some new character classes beyond the mechromancer. Im really loving the sound of this tbh. i LOVE the mechromancer and it seems these new classes will be pretty experimental like the mechromancer XD

Actually, that picture is an old screenshot of the base game.

CrimsonessCross4223d ago (Edited 4223d ago )

Ah yeah, I see that x3. Wasn't paying attention entirely.

I guess I was trying to also speculate about the "Motorhead" achievement and why it was named that. I figured it had something to do with vehicles since it's slang for people who are vehicle fanatics.

Ah well :) thanks for pointing that out :D

I completely forgot about the band Motorhead, but it shouldn't have anything to do with them :P

Glad to see other people actually noticing this.

Myst4223d ago

I haven't even touched the booty yet (Hehe) but really wow I may as well just wait before jumping back into the game and play it all at once if they are going to come out this fast.

Im hoping another DLC would send you up to the Hyperion Moon Station which you can infiltrate and destroy

Borderlands 4 And Tiny Tina's Wonderlands 2 Leaked

Multiple future Gearbox Software projects, including Borderlands 4 and Tiny Tina's Wonderlands 2 have been spotted.

Hopefully, they fired the entire writing team after B3 cause that dialogue was truly atrocious.

jeromeface172d ago

doubtful... this is gearbox we're talking about.. Randy thinks everything the studio does is gold because he has a bad concept of reality

DrDoomer173d ago

FFS make something else. If you can't make anything new, at least bring back Brothers In Arms or something.

-Foxtrot172d ago

I know it will never happen (for obvious story reasons that's happened) but I wish we could play the original Vault hunters again with new abilities you could choose to develop in a skill branch. Never really felt I could get behind most of them after the first game, especially move wise. Lilith's phase walk will always be the best to me.

Speaking of Lilith, I'm kind of wondering how they'll get around the whole Siren thing since they wrote themselves into a corner saying there's "only 6 Sirens in the entire universe" and now thanks to Borderlines 3 they apparently pass on their abilities meaning once we see each of 6 powers available that's it, no new brand new ones. I don't know why they don't just say there's more than 6 since all of them in the ENTIRE Universe just conveniently coming to Pandora is a bit strange.

BrainSyphoned172d ago

That's super easy to get around. Each person that has the skill could have their own personal spin on it. There could be a new power that morphs them into something else. One of the weapon manufacturers could experiment on 5 of the Sirens and the 6th would have to fight a horde of siren powered bad guys to rescue the others. Fiction has been there and done that with power more complex or simple thousands of times before.

As for revisting the first game? That would be totally unlike the gaming industry to reboot a series...
