Angry Birds Trilogy Review | GodisaGeek

GodisaGeek: "The biggest problem of all is that unless you are an Angry Birds obsessive, or simply do not own the necessary handheld device, there isn’t really anything new here to warrant shelling out for a game that costs a fraction of the price elsewhere. However, in the context of things, this is still a cheap Xbox game, given the huge amount of content on the disc. 700 levels is enough to keep anyone going for bloody ages, and the game is fun, simplistic and difficult to hate on.

I will point out at this stage, that up until the morning this game landed on my doorstep, the cultural phenomenon that is Angry Birds had completely passed me by. That is right folks, I had never so much as looked at a bird careering towards a startled pig. I am glad that I finally got a chance to enjoy it after all of these years. Finland, I salute you."

Activison love money. I won't buy it for 45$.

Funny how Rovio tagged Nintendo's retail games "$40 pieces of plastic", yet now they have their games as one of those so-called "$40 pieces of plastic".

The author of the article mentions he never played it before. To this day I still haven't played it as I simply don't care for these types of games. I watched my wife play it on her tablet once and it still bored me.

GodisaGeek4244d ago

We actually thought it was interesting to get someone to review it, who hadn't played it before. It's very easy to hate on Angry Birds because of how successful it has become, but it became successful for a reason! :-)

Indeed, it was not my intention to begrudge the game based on it's success. God bless the developers and more power to them for making something that so many people enjoy. I just don't enjoy mobile device games. On my smartphone I don't have a single game, just by virtue that they bore me. I have my various handheld consoles from the original GameBoy and Game Gear to my PSP and Vita. I just prefer games that have depth such as RPGs. It's much the same that I can't stand reality shows; no substance and they have all the depth of a puddle. Hopefully the developers of Angry Birds can come up with something else that so many people want to play. :)

"However, in the context of things, this is still a cheap Xbox game"
Not really, it's an extremely expensive port. Nothing about this game strikes me as being worth more than its asking price on iPhone.

GodisaGeek4244d ago

You don't love Kinect integration? I guess Sean is saying that you get 3 games with lots of levels, all on one disc, in HD for £29.99.

Alos884244d ago

Three games that cost a dollar each elsewhere.
I'm going to assume the kinect thing was sarcasm.

Who honestly found this news surprising? ;)

ZodTheRipper3705d ago

Me neither, I contributed to that success :D

micx3705d ago

No one, but it's nice to hear. :)
Angry Birds surprised me though.

Neonridr3705d ago

yeah, it's hard to justify paying for that game when you can get it for like $1 on smartphones. So I am very shocked to see it was the best selling Vita game over the month of March.

MASTER_RAIDEN3705d ago

Infamous is set to take the number one spot of any next gen game released thus far. Im calling it.

candy_mafia3705d ago (Edited 3705d ago )

Infamous SS is cheaper to buy on PSN than it is in retail stores by $10.

So I'm totally unsurprised it's doing so well :)

micx3704d ago

All Digital games should be cheaper.

Hicken3705d ago

I'll say it again: the PS4 is more geared toward digital. This means it's likely for big titles to see proportionately more digital sales than their Xbox counterparts.

micx3704d ago

That's true, PSN has a better digital support, especially if preloading is considered.

isa_scout3705d ago

Just got the plat trophy 5 minutes ago. Def deserves all the sales it gets. Not as good as the other 2 infamous games but def the best launch window game I've played yet.
