The Most Important Wii U Accessory Is...

TheHDRoom: "Wii U pre-orders for launch day are already sold out everywhere they became available. The rest of the inventory due to arrive between the November 18 release date and Christmas is likely to get snatched up, too.

That means over the next couple of months, a very expensive piece of video game hardware is going to end up in the hands of thousands upon thousands of kids the world over. Many of these kids may have already had the opportunity to cruise around on mommy or daddy's tablet. However, with Wii U, kids are going to want to take control like they have with every other Nintendo gaming console that has hit the market"

A very expensive piece of hardware? compared to a toy, yes.. compared to tablets and every other console that has been released in the last 12 years.. no.

Regardless of Comparisons, 300$ isn't exactly "cheap".

The 360 was 300 to 400 when it came out. The PS3 was 500 to 600. The Wii U base model is 50 dollars more than a Wii was at its launch. It can do more and is way more powerful than a Wii. Three hundred dollars is not a lot. If anyone thinks 300 to 350 is too much wait until PS4 and Xbox720 arrive. I can guarantee they will be more money.

Kids drop everything. It's crazy that holding something is a skill that takes 10+ years to master.

Looking Ahead: The Lingering Questions About the Next Mario Kart

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "10 years. It’s been almost 10 years since the last mainline release in the Mario Kart series. Mario Kart 8 came out for the Wii U in 2014 and became the best-selling game for the system by a sizeable margin, and later pulled the same magic trick on the Nintendo Switch under the stage name Deluxe. All in all, it's sold nearly 70 million copies over the last decade and is still selling like hot cakes to this day, so it’s no wonder Nintendo has been in no rush to replace it. However, with rumors of a new system being just around the corner, and reports a few years back that a new Mario Kart is indeed under way, it seems the era of 8 might very well be drawing to a close. It’s an exciting prospect to be sure, but after two Nintendo systems with Mario Kart 8 at their heart, a lot of questions remain about how Nintendo will choose to follow it up."

I hope they just keep building on Mario Kart 8; Add a track-creation tool, and probably open it up to more Nintendo IPs with new tracks and characters, so Metroid, Punch Out, Starfox, Animal Crossing, etc etc.
