Ragnarok Odyssey release date set

Xseed Games has tied a release date to its upcoming PlayStation Vita game Ragnarok Odyssey. The Game Arts-developed action RPG will launch in North America on October 30.

On the busiest release day of the month. My pockets has just left me.

I'm happy this finally has a release date and the 30th will be a very busy day for me. What a wonderful time to be a gamer.

Dir_en_grey4222d ago

Oh man I was all ready to get it on the 16th, the original (already delayed) release date...

I don't understand why they have to keep pushing it back even just for a few weeks

Spenok4221d ago

Their has never been a confirmed US launch date. That was all speculation. I have been following this for some time now, and have found that date before. However no one ever knew if it was concrete or not. And now, we can see that it wasn't lol.

Anyways its about time the game has a date. Only a little over 2 weeks :D

Dir_en_grey4221d ago

@Spenok
Well there was no official announce date for US but it shouldn't have been so late when the Asian version was all translated and ready.

I know they tried to fit DLC content on disk but who the hell cares just release the damn game and let us download the dlc's like other regions instead of having to wait.

Anyway doesn't matter now but I just hope these translation companies would just get the game out faster instead of keep dragging it on.

Ragnarok Odyssey was developed by Game Arts, creators of the Grandia and Lunar series, together with GungHo Online Entertainment in Japan. GungHo Online Entertainment America will publish Ragnarok Odyssey in Europe later this year.

Glad to see Ragnarok Online characters in this specially the ninja.

crinale4221d ago

Gamearts also developed Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

miyamoto4221d ago

oh that's great!

Back in the 1990's, Gamearts used to be Square & Enix's rival when it comes to great RPGs

Ragnarok Online by Gungho was as huge as Warcraft and Counterstrike in SE Asia back then

These guys know how to make great RPGs

Spenok4221d ago

Well, to be fair it wasn't developed by them solely. (I swear that word looks misspelled, but I guess you cant argue with dictionary.com lol)

Sora and some people within the Nintendo umbrella had input as well.

Gregard4221d ago

So, are we sure there is going to be an EU release? Where did you see that information?

miyamoto4221d ago

its in the official press release

http://www.joystiq.com/2012...

Ragnarok Odyssey hits the Vita on October 30 in the US, running $40 for the standard version, via retail or download. The Mercenary Edition, which includes a pack of 10 random Monster Cards, the soundtrack and a 96-page Mercenary Guide, slides in at $50.

Ragnarok Odyssey came out in Japan in February and has sold more than 100,000 units online and at retail there. Yeah, that's a lot of monsters.

100,000 Japanese gamers are a lot of peeps to play online with.

Gregard4220d ago

Thanks for the reply! Indeed, the official press release said it will be released later this year for EU! So excited! Many thanks for the info! :)

Sensu4222d ago (Edited 4222d ago )

What about the European release date? :O

sypher4221d ago

Yeh looking for that also. And if they will release the Mercenary edition over here. Might just decide to import the U.S. version though if nothing is announced soon.

Gregard4220d ago

Check axelstone's reply to my post above. In the official release statement it said it will be released later this year!

Vita Means Life - A Retrospective (2011-2019)

VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "With the sad but expected news that Sony is finally discontinuing production of PlayStation Vita hardware worldwide (combined with the earlier news that cartridge production was stopping in the west), it marks what will likely be the final chapter in the extraordinary journey for this little handheld that could. Despite its own creator rapidly withdrawing development support, third-parties cancelling projects left and right, and more internet negativity than I've ever seen for a console, it just kept trucking on - delivering a brilliant gaming experience for anyone willing to give it a shot.

So in light of this news I wanted to deliver a brief retrospective to what has become my favourite gaming machine ever, looking back at all the things it has done so well throughout its life, alongside a short look at what its final year might hold from here. While it's sad to see the Vita finally reaching the end of its life, there have been so many brilliant experiences along the way that I want to celebrate these here - and I know I've (personally) got many more years of enjoyment to come thanks to my backlog too!"

Ten brilliant Vita games no one told you about

Digitally Downloaded writes: "This week we're going to have a look at that console that everyone claims lacks games. That's right, the PlayStation Vita. The sad reality for those naysayers is that it doesn't lack games at all. In fact, the Vita has some truly entertaining games that were release to little or no fanfare thanks to the console's utter lack of visibility in the market.

So, if you haven't got a Vita yet, consider the ten games we've listed below. You might not even realise these are available on the console, but if you pick one up and grab these games to go with it, you'll quickly realise just how good the Vita can really be."

Cam9773996d ago

Get this:
http://www.youtube.com/watc...

It's a new indie game that is available on PS Mobile. Sorry, this is all I could find of the game on Youtube.

Furthermore, I'd advise you check out "LONE SURVIVOR" when it's out which is yet another survival horror Indie game.
I can't wait to see what's in store for the Vita at E3 2013!

Smokingunz3996d ago

I don't agree with this list! This author has bad taste. The only good game on this list is Silent Hill Book Of Memories! Now that is an awesome game.a game worth buying indeed.
