Back in October of 2011, I started playing DC Universe Online. For me to spend money on any MMO, it needs to be top notch. When I first heard that this game was going to be released, I was super amped up and prepared to spend my hard earned money on it. But then the semi-bad reviews hit, and I held back. So during that month of October, it was just going to the Free To Play model, so I said what the hell. Might as well give a try.
Before then, I haven’t played MMOs since at least 5+ years prior. My first entry into this genre was with The Matrix Online. That game, and DC Universe Online, were both from Sony Online Entertainment. The Matrix Online continued the storyline from the movies, and kept fans of the movies heavily engaged with content for many years. But then World of Warcraft grew even bigger, and people were jumping ship. So what was SOE left to do, but close up shop. Totally understandable, it’s all business. If you search on YouTube now, I’m sure you will find videos...

WTMG's Thomas Medina: "As far as I’m concerned, console MMOs have always been in a weird place. PC is where the main game is most popular. MMOs were born there, work best there, and have the vast majority of titles. Mobile is then next in line, with touchscreens and portability that adds something new while functioning well. Console gaming, on the other hand, is not portable (for the most part). Plus, it uses a controller, which is not the best instrument when your control scheme requires a thousand buttons and a cursor. That being said, there is an audience, and where there’s money to be made, publishers find a way. So here we are with some of the biggest console MMO games and how I feel they handled 2021. "
From Xfire: "A lot of video games are designed to make players feel like a superhero. However, very few actually feature superheroes or have players take on the role of a superhero. What makes this even worse is that there are even fewer superhero video games that can be considered good."
I absolutely love the music of this game. When I play it it reminds me to the days of marathoning one of my most favorite games ever Dragon Quest VIII! I love the randomness when you're on a solo mission and you get killed and from out of nowhere someone comes and saves you. lol
DCUO is an amazingly fun and addictive F2P. Voice acting is top notch too: http://www.youtube.com/watc...
Beside Batman I never liked DC that much but this game changed my perspective and made me realize that DC is just as deep, complex and intriguing as Marvel. Now I can't wait for the new Superman movie which I bet it will be awesome. And not to mention the rumored Justice League one....
