Here's to hoping they'll let the PS3 push the content to my HDD at midnight instead of having to wait for the store to update at 8PM EST

A few hours is really not that long to wait for access.

I wonder though - is this service a testing ground for a move towards all digital service? Digital distribution makes sense within this generation just as a necessary option, but I can't help but wonder if it has a larger purpose as well.

It has to be. I'm ready to say goodbye to boxes, and I'm especially ready to stop going to Gamestop and having to scream "NOOOOO" to all of their stupid preorder and promotion crap

The difference between a game releasing in a physical store and being available all day versus the PSN store updating whenever it updates is more than a few hours, especially when you factor in waiting for it to download and install.

If you preorder on PSN it downloads automatically?

I suppose just for PS+ members

What I think would be a nice feature is that you can pre-download games a day or so before they release, and then just download a 6kb unlock the day it comes out...I think STEAM does this, and would love to see it on consoles.

I am curious to know how it will work when, Gaikai is fully integrated into the PSN/SEN.

Forget buying games off the PSN, on the EU store Borderlands 2 is £49.99 (which is rather high) BUT SSX is £59.99, SSX has been out for ages, I bought it new for £18 at Asda months ago

There prices are insane

Wow. Dishonored, Doom 3:BFG and NFS with a discount. The extra HDD space doesn't seem bad at all.

The retail version will go on sale the following week.

Yeah I figured it would be ordered like this. For me Leons best game was his debut. RE2.
