Fans are upset that Bayonetta 2 is exclusive to the Wii U, but they shouldn't be.
Thing is, while disappointing, it shouldn't be all that surprising. Not when much of this is Sega's fault. Sega, the company who put Valkyria Chronicles on the PS3, the second game on the PSP and didn't release the third in the US. Their finical issues aside, they've created and failed several times in commitments to fans. This is only another. Or rather, asking/expecting fans of a series to buy another system has become business as usual. And not just for them.
Call it dissapointing rather than revealing. It reveals the fanboys or 'hardcore' gamer true colors/ Nothing but whiny, immature, little bitches. Back during the SNES/Genesis days gamers followed the games, I didn't have a Genesis but my neighbor did and we'd play Altered beast, Sonic 2, Streets of Rage, classic games. I had the SNES and my friends would come by and we'd play Street Fighter 2, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong Country, classic games. All this bitching about 'I'm boyoctting this game because xyz' is retarded. And shows the 'hardcore' aren't hardcore at all. You folks that bitched about this game being a Wii U exclusive are cry babies. If you like the game enough buy the console or don't. Gamers would be happy that a game they liked or loved has a sequel being made in the first place. It's been revealed the game wouldn't exist if Nintendo hadn't stepped in. but that's not enough the the 'hardcore' gamer. Pathetic, sad and any other adjective you can think of is what you nerdcore gamers are.
I wonder if this many people b!tched abot Final Fantasy 7 being a PS1 exclusive. It just goes to show that they follow the brand and not the games. 7_7
Some of them are trying to say there was no Internet back then so that's why Nintendo fans weren't seen as crying over FF7. I say bull crap, because I know a shit load of Nintendo fans and not even one got mad about that, most of them just got a Playstation. Heck a lot of ps1's fan base was former Nintendo console owners
@ Zoids: I don't know, but people complained about FF XIII on the 360 because of what many FF fans theorized the 360 did to FF XIII as a whole.
@AWBrawler: Yup. Internet or no internet, fanboyism was not as strong back then as it is now... @pixelsword: I don't think that the people who complained were FF fans. This gen had an ugly fanboyish start, but you must pay attention to who complained and what about. They are the same people who make petitions because of a PS3/Sony game/franchise (1st or 3rd party) is going multiplatform (no.... FF XIII isn't the only one). If you've read this far, you should know the group this post refers to. 7_7
@ arius: " Back during the SNES/Genesis days gamers followed the games, I didn't have a Genesis but my neighbor did and we'd play Altered beast, Sonic 2, Streets of Rage, classic games. I had the SNES and my friends would come by and we'd play Street Fighter 2, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong Country, classic games. " That's the problem; from what I understand, everyone's neighbor owns a 360. (smiles)
Well said.I've always hated the terms 'Hardcore' and 'Casual' anyway, such nonsense. There's people who like to play video games and people who don't....that's it.
Nintendo saved the franchise from going under. I rather have it on the Wii U than not having it at all! I'm a gamer and have been for the past 25+ years. I appreciate all systems and use them for their strengths. PS3 for their first party games, 360 for multi-player games, Wii for first party and family games and eventually the Wii U for first party and family games and maybe some hardcore games...we'll see. I totally agree with Arius Dion, most of the people who are complaining about this are immature kids who have nothing better to do. It's time for you kids to move out and live on your own; and maybe you'll grow up a little after reality kicks your asses. You guys are living in La La Land.
I predict more articles on this throughout the next month.
why the MANY articles on bayonetta 2 exclusivity are dissapointing
Can you guys please stop copy/pasting eachother's "Bayonetta fans are mad and dumb" blogs? At the very least, please spare N4G your redundant submission if you absolutely must keep perpetuating unoriginal material.
Here was my reaction to this news: "*YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWN*.... .. ...can someone make Dark Sector 2 please?"
This article is now obsolete. The president, when attempting to clarify the situation inadvertently let us all know that they could have had any one of a number of western studios publish bayonetta. This wishy-washy PR is basically just to save the brand after the exclusivity blew up in their face. Here is the article: http://www.videogamer.com/w...
They could have also tried, and could have also already been turned down were Bayonetta is involved. Activision and EA don't have the greatest history of supporting less than super successful Western games... what makes you think they would want to support a sequel to a less than successful Japanese game? If you run down the list of potential partners, only Ubisoft(A potential I completely forgot about in previous assessments on this subject) and Nintendo have the funds and want to be involved. Ubisoft has a lot on their plate already, and with Nintendo being a Japanese company already involved with platinum(Wonderful 101) they make at least a little more sense.
Not likely sure some are only interested in shooters but western developers also like action games. If it was a jrpg I would agree.
