VGW: Jet Set Radio HD review

VGW: These days it seems as if every publisher is busy hunting through its basement in search of games to cash in on that hallowed nostalgia buck, and SEGA is leading the bandwagon. Their latest reissue of an old favorite is Jet Set Radio HD. Originally Jet Grind Radio for its North American release back in 2000, the renamed Jet Set Radio has been given an HD makeover and been brought to every downloadable store on the block. So is it worth checking out this old fan favorite from twelve years ago? Yes and no.

I sometimes think that what was great back in the day was good because there weren't games like GTA 5 or Call of Duty Black Ops to compare them to.

While JSR does seem to be too dated to hold up in today's demanding generation, it still captures that distinct style with its vibrant colors and cell-shaded graphics, delivering that distinct gameplay experience that players experienced with the Dreamcast.

It's not the original, but it's pretty close, and making old games more accessible to the masses is something I agree with.

I like how you don't have to have a Dreamcast to play JSR, but I do think that some things should remain forever in their classic state and not recreated.
