LittleBigPlanet Vita Review | Eurogamer

It shouldn't make sense. What place does a game in which a chew toy jumps through shoebox dioramas filled with peeling wallpaper, worn rugs and offcuts from grandma's fabric drawer have on some of humankind's most technologically-advanced entertainment hardware? Sony's task is usually to cover up the joins in its work - to arrange the plastic, glass and buttons to resemble sleek, black pebbles popped straight from the future. It seems curious that a game hand-stitched in Guildford should have ended up the poster boy for Sony's corporate wonder-conjuring.

I really don't know why Eurogamer loves to downplay Sony like this. This game is getting great reviews and they talk about like it's just another amazing game, how unoriginal is it that it's so wonderful. No worries anyway, I don't think there is one person who can play this game and truly think it's's unbelievably outstanding and the best LBP to date!

8 is a good score... but i agree that this site seams biased when comes to Sony exclusives.

Fishy Fingers2222d ago (Edited 2222d ago )

8/10 is not a good score. Everyone knows every single Sony exclusive deserves 11/10 or the site is clearly bias.

I call for a boycott!!!

You're absolutely right:

"But mostly, we're just happy to see a flagship game for a modern system that's about running from left to right and jumping over things. New ideas are great, great old ideas are better, and LittleBigPlanet has both: it's the future and the past of videogames, rolled into one." 9 out of 10

"Even if you have no interest in creating levels yourself, LittleBigPlanet 2 merits its existence, not only because of the potential novelties its users will create with the vastly improved toolset, but also for the stronger, more refined single-player campaign. Strip away the relentless good looks and the generous open-source playpen, and the bare, underlying platformer's shortcomings may hold it back from classic status. But as a package, as a concept, as an unfinished story, LittleBigPlanet 2 is a world apart." 9 out of 10

How dare they only give the previous Little Big Planet games a 9 out of 10. They must really hate Sony.

If only they could give Uncharted 2 a 11 out of 10. That would finally prove they don't hate Sony.

i was talking in general not about the LBP series...

fabod86, they are not a site that gives out a lot of 10's. If you were to compare them to a site like IGN their reviews are probably lower overall on average. On ALL systems.

This constant bickering about how the media hates Sony or they are biased in reviews against Sony is getting silly. This site has more members who care more about the perspective of Sony than the other two. You look at the forums that are about the platforms here and the PS3 forum gets double the activity of the PC, Wii and XBOX360 combined. That's right, COMBINED.

So when you have a community that is always fixated on mostly Sony there is going to tend to be a biased perspective. The fact is what benefit does Eurogamer have in being biased against Sony? Is the site funded by Nintendo? By Microsoft?

8 out of 10 is a good score on that site and by whining about how they hate Sony just makes gamers of 'ALL' platforms look immature and a bunch of whiny brats. I showed examples of previous Little Big Planet games getting excellent reviews. I also showed a PS3 exclusive that got a perfect 10. So to say they hate Sony is a myth created by fanboys who have nothing better to do than whine about how everyone should listen to them and those that don't hate Sony. If they were normal and see things outside of their bubble things would be fine.

Well said Levelhead, I constantly point out how absolutly stupid it is to say the media hates Sony based off of a few websites. Half of the websites that say this are no name blog sites that I thought weren't allowed to be posted on N4G.

But they are posted and it fuels the conspiracy fire raging in a lot of these n4g members. Shame really.

levelhead, the point is that this has started from the media...
i mean, how many "doom" articles do you see daily about Sony and how many about the others? this is a fact, nobody can deny it.
obviously it's ridicolous that there is a cospiration against Sony but the true is, even if it's not the market dominator like the last 2 generation, the company is a big name that even now has a big relevance in the gaming industry and the media, from what it seams, have understood that this "big" name make more sensation than the other two combined.
it's not only an N4G thing, all the major sites use the "Sony card" when they need more hits because that news usually are the most followed and the most commented.
i agree with you about the absence of a sort of hate and cospirations but, like the big part of the media(it seams), i can see where is the "fat cow"(don't now if it's used in the States as association :P ).
i don't think that this is all that bad... but i don't deny it. ;)
