In just under a week, Nintendo of America will release the first installment of the Professor Layton series, an insanely popular Japanese franchise that's already in its third iteration overseas. The game, Professor Layton and the Curious Village, introduces the puzzle savvy Layton and his assistant Luke and the unique gameplay that Level 5 has created for the series.
Despite its incredible popularity overseas, Nintendo of America has been surprisingly subdued in its hype for Professor Layton in the US…at least in the months leading up to the release. But now that the game is ready to go the hype machine is in full force and the company has offered up some new screenshots of some puzzles as well as high resolution artwork used in the game.

Never been a fan of the kind of game design where you need a guide to be able to do it, some might say it's quirky but I think it's dumb.
That's why The Witness is so good, the puzzles are often confusing and very difficult but there's always a logical solution if you think about it enough.
It's actually easier for FF IX now, contrary to what the article says. The speed increase makes the game plays at x3 the speed, but it doesn't actually make the timer go faster, so it makes getting there in 12 hours a lot easier.
