MMGN: The Wii U launch line-up may be full of ports and late multiplatform releases, but it’s still considerably better than anything we’ve seen from the current generation of consoles and handhelds.
Really? Oh well, I guess we can chalk this up as one of those opinion things that people seem to think have a right to exist and taken seriously, despite being completely unsubstantiated. Another "win" for games journalism, in other words.
I guess. Just looks like a bunch of ports and unknown games to me.
Which one? The xbox 360, Ps3, 3DS, Vita or Wiiu?
I agree a lot are ports and to be quite frank it is just cheaper to buy the game for current systems than buy a new console considering they are the same game. Saying it is better isn't exactly saying much anyway
I have 50+ games for my PS3 but none of them were launch titles. Why? I waited until 2010 when they slashed the the price to $300.00. MGS4, LBP & multi-awarded Uncharted 2 were already out. So started out next gen gaming with a big bang! wowed & astonished! That is how you start gaming: with a sense of awe & wonder at great reasonable prices. And I didn't have to suffer long waits between AAA games rolling out. That is just how it is anyway with consoles. Did the waiting game with the 3DS and it was the right thing to do & I did not get shafted. Some Nintendo fangirls said I'll die waiting but I am still here with a bigger 3DS XL. Will do this with the Vita also. We'll see the Wii U after two years. See how the "great titles" turns out.
I did that with the 360 and I agree. Waiting pays off. I got the Vita already though and it's awesome. I have yet to run out of games. Haven't even gotten Resistance or WipEout yet. You should definitely pick one up after the holidays or early next year. There are a ton of games for it to keep you occupied.
More than 2/3rds of the WiiU Launch "Window" games are actually really late ports from the HD twins. Then there exclusive line up consit of Yet another Mario and .....Lego City? Right :/
Everything in this article seems pretty spot on. One of the most accurate articles I have witnessed on this site for many many moons. Not only is this the greatest launch lineup in the last 6 or 7 years. This may very well be the most spectacular launch lineup in the long history of our amazing hobby. Nintendo gave birth to the Nintendo Wii U entertainment system, fully loaded with a fist full of AAA quality content. from ports, sequels to established IPs, to new Nintendo caliber exclusive content all in one massive sweep. This is one of the best times ever to be one of the millions of Nintendo Elite supporters that walk this very earth. The Future is now. Rated E For Everyone
Agreed. Personally, I have never seen a launch window this strong. Apparently, there will be something for everyone day 1. I will be picking up: - Black WiiU - Rayman Legends - New Super Mario Bros. U - Tekken Tag Tournament 2
I am glad to see others share my enthusiasm for positive Nintendo news. For years on end I have been waiting, and my wish has been granted. We can now experience the Tekken fighting franchise on a Nintendo home console for the first time ever. Hopefully this landmark achievement opens the doors for all future and already released fighters to make their way to the Nintendo Wii U entertainment system. Rated E For Everyone
I would love to see an argument between you and Dark Sniper.
I'm impressed with the line up. I certainly won't buy it day one but I'll consider it. **Off Topic** Wow I've been off N4G soo long and there are trolls everywhere now lmao, well more then before. We got Pro-WiiU and Anti-WiiU trolls. Lol
They now come in all colours and flavours. On-topic: It is great to see Ninty gettin some 3rd party love for a change.
The Nintendo fans have been increasing in population. They may be nearing majority if things keep up at this pace. The place is still predominately run by what seem to be Sony fans though... now that nearly all the 360 fans have "died" out...^.^;;
Makes sense seeing how the install base is already there.
Totally agree with the article.
The website has "Wii" in it's name......
The one grio i have if any about Nintendos approach is why release a system if you arent going to have many games supporting more than one wiiu pad? I mean from what i can understand is that if i so happen to break my tablet controller i cant just simple walk into a store and buy one? Because they wont sell them seperately? Whats so good about a lunch lineup that isnt tailored-made with this in mind? I mean why even release the system without addressing this issue first? This is perhaps the first time ive heard of such a thing. I imagine if you couldnt buy a seperate dualshock or 360controller at launch because the systems games werent tailored-made for more than one controller. Even though in this case, its the main attraction of the product. Well aside this, i have no problems with the wiiu or its specs as i have come to accept their way of operating. Like the new mario though, looks fun.
Great lineup ports or not every console has ports on release, to the above haters who disagree read below "Eat it Fanboys"
I'm buying first day but 2-3 games interest me. Pikmin, Mario as usual, and zombieu(which devs said possibly able to be on other consoles).
