GotGame: A list of the best Disney-themed games not called Kingdom Hearts.
Despite Walt Disney's mixed history with video games, these games embody the magic of Disney the best.
When you think of Disney and video games, the first image that comes to your head could be a variety of things. Perhaps it's Kingdom Hearts, which remains one of the best Square Enix games due in little part to Disney’s influence.
Otherwise, it could be a classic game, since Disney has been mostly absent from the gaming world lately, save for some mobile ventures. Whether it be a nostalgic adventure with classic characters or a movie tie-in that makes an impression, let’s dust off Disney’s videogame legacy and find those quality standouts.
listen .. Donald Duck in Maui Mallard
and World of illusion are the best disney games.

Strange that they didn't offer both the SNES / Genesis cartridges for both games. I mean I am happy they are using the Genesis Aladdin because it's definitely the better game, just a little odd I guess.
Neat. Part of me wishes I still had my Genesis, as that Aladdin cart looks amazing. I'd have to have it, even though I'd still have my original cart. Alas, I parted ways with my Genesis and all my games when I got my PS1 as my mom said I should get rid of old things when I get something new. Fast forward decades later and it seems hoarding things would have been the right way to go in retrospect. At least I can look forward to the re-release of these games on modern systems.
There's not even a debate - Aladdin was an objectively better game on Sega's flagship console. Here are some reasons why.
well clearly Nintendo's decision to remove the ability to use a sword and instead forced Aladdin to throw apples was the dumbest idea ever. This alone tends to be the biggest reason as to why kids sided with the Genesis version (because swords are cool to kids). Much like people preferring the Genesis version of MK1 over the SNES version due to the lack of blood even though the Genesis version was vastly inferior to MK on the SNES in all other categories. The SNES version of Aladdin was more colorful though and I would argue is far more detailed. The Genesis version looks dark and washed out. That's down to personal preference though.
That being said, I have fond memories of both Aladdin and Lion King from both systems.
Here are my objections :
1. In the movie, Aladdin didn't wield sword, so Genesis version was strayed from the movie
2. Bigger, better, more? The SNES version offered simplicity, that suits the movie's atmosphere
3. Overall the graphic on SNES more colourful and detailed
4. SNES version had more attractive sounds and musics
5. I don't know if the author really don't know about this or the author is being biased. Mikami and Perry praised each other. Here's Perry's quote :
“I'm really biased as we made the original game and got Disney to deliver the animation,” he said. “So I’d flip the quote, ‘If I didn’t actually make the Genesis version I’d probably buy the SNES one.’”
